If we’re being honest, we were sad when the Lizzie McGuire reboot didn’t move forward. The original show was so important to us and when the reboot was announced we got extremely excited.
But when it didn’t move forward we didn’t have many answers, just questions. And a lot of hate for the people that didn’t move it forward. Like Lizzie grew up and we all needed to know what happened.
Yes, we’re aware of the whole Disney+ didn’t want it going in a more mature direction, but the creator did.
Since Lizzie McGuire herself, Hilary Duff, is doing a lot of press for How I Met Your Father, we’re not shocked that the questions about the show are coming up.
What would it happened?
“My character was moving back home with her parents because she caught her soon-to-be fiancé cheating on her,” Hilary said when speaking with Cosmopolitan. “She was falling flat on her face at the moment and being like, ‘I need to pivot because everything that I thought was wasn’t, and I’m turning 30. What the fuck?’”
We’ve been there. We get it. Feel that at some point that there is a need for a reset in life.
“In my 34 years, I’ve realized that everything does happen for a reason,” she continued. “There’s a time and a place for everything. It just wasn’t her moment. I’m constantly asked about it still. All it does is breathe life into the fact that people still want it, and that’s really sweet. It’s not dead, and it’s not alive.”
But what is alive is her role on How I Met Your Father, streaming now on Netflix.
