Legacies will gain another god in its expanding cast as Luke Mitchell joins the supernatural series in a recurring role.
This casting marks Mitchell’s return to The CW. He previously appeared on The Republic of Sarah. However, that’s not the only The CW show he has appeared on in the past. Legacies marks a creative reunion with Julie Plec.
Fans of the network and fans of Plec’s work alike will know Mitchell appeared alongside Peyton List and Robbie Amell on the science fiction drama The Tomorrow People that aired from 2013 to 2014. Plec co-developed/executive produced that series.

According to Deadline’s exclusive report, Luke Mitchell will play “Ken, a malevolent god who has returned to take down Hope, the world’s only tribrid, and reclaim his title as the world’s most powerful being.”
He will first appear in this week’s episode — Legacies 4×14, “The Only Way Out is Through.” Mitchell is visible for a second during the promo video for that episode.
That glimpse and his character description don’t tell us too much about Ken, making us believe Legacies wants to keep as much about this god under wraps. But, it does tell us something about Hope Mikaelson — she’s the most powerful being in the world! The Originals spelled out as much during its run, and now we know for sure.

Since Hope is the only tribrid in the world, she possesses a powerset no one else can replicate — something gods likely expect to be reserved for them and only them. Hope Mikaelson pokes a hole in their almighty perception, so they’re (or at least Ken) threatened by her power.
The Super Squad is keen to revive Hope’s humanity and fight alongside her on their own terms. Maybe the gods will learn that anyone can be powerful — whether they’re a tribrid or not. The Super Squad is stronger together.
We’ll have to wait and see how that and Ken’s apparent family reunion unfolds. Piper Curda, who joined Legacies as Jen — or Vulcan — tweeted a tease about Jen’s connection to Ken. This show isn’t subtle about how it tackles its characters’ daddy’s issues. Hope even mentioned as much in Legacies 4×13, “Was This the Monster You Saw.”
Legacies is from Warner Bros Television and CBS Television Studios in association with My So-Called Company, with Julie Plec, Brett Matthews, Leslie Morgenstein, and Gina Girolamo executive producers.
