New Line has picked up the rights to Rebecca Serle’s New York Times bestselling novel for HBO Max and set No Good Deed scribe Aimee Lagos to adapt. You read that right, In Five Years is going to come to the silver screen.
The book is a story of destiny, loyalty, and friendship. The book follows a lawyer who has a vision that could change her life, her destiny forever.
Serle has written such books as One Italian Summer, The Dinner List, and the YA novels Famous in Love, Truly Madly Famously, The Edge of Falling and When You Were Mine. In Five Years is a New York Times bestseller, spending 16 weeks on the list.
Lagos recently adapted Terry McMillan’s bestselling novel I Almost Forgot About You which will star Viola Davis. The book is being adapted for Universal. She also wrote and executive produced No Good Deed for Screen Gems starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson.
