There are very few writers that capture emotion so spectacularly as Rebecca Serle does. She writes stories that hit you in the heart, but also remind you that you should treasure the moments that you have with people.
She is one of those writers that you grow with, because she is growing with you. She’s transitioned from writing young adult books to some pretty powerful adult books that stick with you.
Serle has long been a favorite of ours and one of her best books, In Five Years, is getting the adaptation treatment. We can’t wait.
New Line has picked up the rights to Rebecca Serle’s New York Times bestselling novel for HBO Max and set No Good Deed scribe Aimee Lagos to adapt. You read that right, In Five Years is going to come to the silver screen.
The book is a story of destiny, loyalty, and friendship. The book follows a lawyer who has a vision that could change her life, her destiny forever.
Serle has written such books as One Italian Summer, The Dinner List, and the YA novels Famous in Love, Truly Madly Famously, The Edge of Falling and When You Were Mine. In Five Years is a New York Times bestseller, spending 16 weeks on the list.
Lagos recently adapted Terry McMillan’s bestselling novel I Almost Forgot About You which will star Viola Davis. The book is being adapted for Universal. She also wrote and executive produced No Good Deed for Screen Gems starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson.
We’re loving that In Five Years is going to be adapted. Have you read it yet? Let us know what you think.
