If you’ve been watching The Late Late Show With James Corden then you already know that he and Harry Styles have been friends for a long time. Over the years Harry has made multiple appearances on James’s show and has even hosted a few times.
They have such a genuine friendship and anytime these two are onscreen working together on something it’s a good time. Their latest team project was a music video for Harry’s song ‘Daylight’ off his new album Harry’s House.
The catch with this particular project was that they had three hours and a $300.00 budget. In addition to that, they had no music video concept so James came up with an idea to go door to door on the streets of Brooklyn to see if they could use someone’s home as the location.
Unfortunately, Harry and James were unsuccessful at the start. The first two apartments they stopped at; one lady was heading out for the day so she wouldn’t be there to let them stay. And the second lady was a sweet elderly woman who probably thought it was odd that a stranger was asking to use her home for a music video.
We realize it’s probably a shock to some that someone would refuse Harry Styles anything but, not everyone knows who he is. The guys finally struck gold when they arrived at the doorstep of an apartment with four young ladies living together.
Naturally they were extremely shocked and excited that Harry Styles would be shooting a music video in their home. We all know we would die if Harry Styles came to our doorstep asking to shoot a music video and we definitely would not turn him down.
Once James and Harry filled the ladies in on all the details, they went to work looking over the apartment to come up with how they wanted to shoot the video. James went around checking out the rooms and happened to stumble upon one who had a lot of Harry memorabilia which consisted of a one direction mini book, their perfume, and a drawing of Harry as Harry Potter. James told her that they needed to hide it so she wouldn’t look like a Harry psychopath.
Let me tell you something okay? we know it was probably meant as a joke but, MY ROOM is MY ROOM. It’s my sanctuary and if James Corden rolled up with Harry Styles and they went into MY bedroom, guess what? They’re going to find some Harry on my wall too along with a few of my other favorite music artists and I am not ashamed of it, nor would I hide it because that’s who I am and it’s authentically me.
After all the prep work, the video shoot began, and James invited the ladies to reach out to some of their friends to join in on the fun. If this situation has taught us anything, it’s that our mothers were right when they scolded us about making sure our rooms were always clean.
Yes, we know Harry Styles isn’t going to just show up on our doorstep but hey, we’ll be making sure our place remains spotless all year long. And we’ll make sure we don’t ignore phone calls from friends because they just might be calling us to invite us over for a Harry Styles music video shoot. I mean, we won’t get our hopes or anything but it’s incentive to pick up the phone.
