By now, unless you’ve been living under a rock or you magically have a way of avoiding spoilers, you know that Harry Styles is in Eternals. Well, he’s in a credits scene, but that opens the door to so much more, so we’re not complaining. Hell no matter what happens, we’ve seen Harry Styles in the MCU and that’s more than we ever could have hoped for.
But how did he come to be in the MCU? Well, director Chloe Zhao had a few things to say about how that came to be and we are hanging on her every word.
“I pitched the idea of Pip the Troll and Eros to Kevin (Feige) awhile back and I love the idea of exploring an Eternal who is beyond Titan and who may have influenced Thanos throughout the years the same way Eternals influenced us, earthlings.” Zhao said when speaking to Deadline.
“And then, it wasn’t like I suggested Eros, and let’s go find actors. I kept tabs on Harry since Dunkirk, I thought he was very interesting. After meeting him I realized he is that character—the same way I cast the rest of my cast. There’s so much of Eros in him. For me, if he says yes and Kevin says yes then it’s a go. And I’m very happy they both did.” she continued.
Look Chloe, we’re applauding your gut instinct and ability to realize who is best to play the characters, because we love the casting.
A lot.
The cast of Eternals is also composed of Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington and more and is in theaters now.
