October is the month for all things spooky, so we look forward to getting movies and shows that give us a nice little scare. Especially when it comes from Academy Award-winning filmmaker and creator Guillermo del Toro. The director, known for his famous films like Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, and The Shape of Water, has one of the most highly anticipated anthologies coming to Netflix.
“The world is beautiful and horrible at exactly the same time…”
The anthology, titled Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, is “a curated collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (Including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro.”
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities release date & trailer
The anthology will debut on Tuesday, October 25, launching a special four-day, double episode Netflix & Chills Halloween event. How fun does this already sound? Our Halloween plans look pretty good right now. Two new episodes will debut daily through Friday, October 28, when the entire collection of eight stories will be available to Netflix members around the world.
We finally got a first look into the series when the teaser debuted back in June during Netflix Geeked Week.
This looks amazing. The cinematography is just incredible, and each story looks so unique and completely different than the last.
We’re not surprised. I mean, it is del Toro. That man has quite the imagination and is one hell of a filmmaker, after all. So, needless to say, we’re really looking forward to this. In addition to this first look, we also now have the titles of the episodes, as well as who is set to star in each one.
