Keanu Reeves is a guarantee of success and one of our favorite actors. We have signed up for all his future projects to enjoy them on a loop, that’s why we are sad that The Devil In The White City is no longer one of them. Do you want to know more?
Here we go!
According to Deadline, Keanu Reeves exited Hulu’s limited series The Devil In The White City. Although Hulu has not officially communicated anything, at least for the moment, sources close to the project have confirmed the news. The loss of Reeves is a blow to the project since he was not only going to be the production lead but also executive producer.
The limited series is an adaptation of Erik Larson’s Devil in the White City and tells the story of Daniel H. Burnham, a demanding but visionary architect who races to make his mark on history with the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, and Dr. H. H. Holmes, America’s first modern serial killer and the man behind the notorious “Murder Castle” built in the Fair’s shadow. This was to mark Reeves’ first major U.S. TV role.
The eight-episode series is targeted for a 2024 launch, with production not expected to commence until next year. The series hails from ABC Signature in Association with Paramount Television Studios. Executive Producers are Martin Scorsese, Rick Yorn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, Stacey Sher, Sam Shaw, Lila Byock, Todd Field, and Mark Lafferty. Shaw is writing and will serve as the showrunner. Field will direct.
But now, The Devil In The White City is without its male lead, so the projected deadlines may be pushed back a bit while they find a replacement. Who would be the ideal to star in this Hulu’s limited series? I’m sure you can think of some good names.
