We are one more week with you! The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia” is an episode that focuses on the case of the week as Simone connects with a fugitive and has some problems at her house. Meanwhile, Brendon meets someone new. Ready?
Here we go!
Sincerity and Anger in The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia”

Simone is not completely honest with her father at the beginning of The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia.” She still hasn’t told him about her relationship with Dina. However, no secret stays buried forever and soon her father learns the truth. And we understand both sides here.
We mean, Simone doesn’t have to give up what she has with Dina just because Cutty is dating Dina’s mom. But it’s also not fair that Cutty’s relationship is in jeopardy over it.
So we’re glad the two found a middle ground in The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia.” But I didn’t expect the friction between Cutty and his girlfriend to come from another side. The moment when Cutty’s friend refers to Dina as a man and tries to humiliate Simone and Dina is very painful.
It is a mistake that may be common but the subsequent humiliation is not a mistake. We must be better than that. And I think Cutty reacted like any parent would react when someone messes with their daughter.
Indeed, anger and violence are never the answer, but I think Cutty’s reaction is understandable given the timing and the words of his friend. I don’t think this reaction means that Cutty is a violent man, far from it.
Although I do understand the position of Dina’s mother insofar as she was with a man who was too temperamental for too long and wants to get as far away from that as possible. We’re glad that they can solve their problems because they are a very cute couple.
Unexpected Connections

Simone is a Queen for many reasons and one of them is revealed in The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia.” She is incredibly good at reading people and connecting with them on a deep level. And this episode is no exception. Simone manages to connect with the fugitive, understand him and even change his mind by telling him about her own experiences.
Thanks to this, we know a little more about the past of Simone and Cutty, as well as what it meant for her that her father was unjustly imprisoned. Because of this, Simone can understand the fugitive’s motivation beyond money, being able to see that he loves his family.
At some point, the fugitive has to choose between his ambition and his family. And Simone always trusted that he would do the right thing because she can read people as a book opened. We love that about her! I liked the relationship that formed between the fugitive and Simone. We hope to see them together again soon.
New Characters in The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia”

Antoinette came stomping into The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia.” She is a strong, determined, and somewhat surly woman. In the end, we find out that she has a big heart but she is defensive with everyone as a way to protect herself. From what little we could see, Antoinette feels lonely. Her parents don’t value her work and want to force her to take over the family wine business, something that just isn’t for her.
Because of this, Antoinette feels her parents’ rejection and the way they feel like a disappointment. This hurts her and she prefers to protect herself from everyone, so as not to risk being hurt more. Interestingly, this distance between her and her parents in The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia” brings her closer to Brendon.
That’s how we found out that Brendon didn’t have it easy either. He also knows what it’s like to feel disappointed in people who are supposed to support and accept you unconditionally.
Realistically, he was getting into something that wasn’t his business, but we understand Brendon’s intentions. He knows that feeling that rejection hurts like hell and he just wanted Antoinette to know that she is not alone and that if she needs someone to talk to she can call him.
At the beginning of The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia” it seems that Antoinette rejects him but, as we see at the end, things are not as they seem. Antoinette, despite her reluctance to open up to anyone, knows what Brendon was trying to do and thanks him for the gesture. Antoinette may not be ready to talk about it yet, but when she is, she knows she can count on him and appreciates his presence and his silent support.
Honestly, we do see some pretty good and explosive chemistry between these two. We don’t think that, if something happens, it’s a long-term thing. However, as we discussed in the previous review about Laura, we’re all for Brendon having fun while he and Laura find their way together.
Other Stuff on The Rookie: Feds 1×05 “Felicia”

- Elena and Garza’s conversation gave me life. It’s nice to see how Garza leaves her space for Elena to be herself and find her place, but he always makes it clear that he is there for whatever Elena needs.
- “Bye, Felicia!” Best line ever!
- Love is love. SAY IT, QUEEN!
- Simone looks are BEAUTIFUL!
