There is a freedom that one can feel when making their own decisions and choices, and Emily in Paris is showcasing that. There is a feeling that comes from finding your dreams, following them, and sticking with them unconditionally. Emily has a life that she’s always wanted, but that comes with a lot of change and we’re not sure that Emily can handle any change.
Emily is extremely type A and so for her, being on her own, not having a set schedule is something that she can’t deal with for long. Emily needs that. She thrives off that. So do we think that she’s going to last long as an influencer. No, not with that being her only job.
But she is trying. She’s going through the list of things that she’s wanted to do and broadcasting them live from Paris. She’s bringing her friends in on it, having someone to go with. She’s growing – even though we’re still confused as to how the fuck they thing that what she posts would gain followers. Just saying.
But as Emily’s life moves forward, so does everyone else’s. Sylvie, Luc, and Julien are moving forward with the agency. Camille is working at the gallery and has a new artist that she’s showcasing. The artist is a woman named Sofia, who from the get go is making advances of Camille. Camille isn’t minding at all.

Look, we’d love to believe that Camille is a good person, but we know better. We’ve made it clear that she’s not our favorite and she’s like the queen of manipulation. yes, she’s been wronged on so many levels but she’s also wronged so many. So whatever storyline that they are setting up with Cami, we are not going to feel bad for her.
We think that the person that she’s wronged the most is herself. She’s forgotten that she deserves to have a life filled with love and honesty.
Everyone deserves the life they want.
And though I would believe that people are experiencing the life that they want, we’re not sure that Emily is doing that. Mindy and Emily are trying to plan out her days, but the truth is, we think that Mindy is exhausted. Emily however, is willing to take on anything.
Waitressing at Gabriels restaurant is the next thing she’s doing. Gabriel hesitantly welcomes her because he’s in a jam. That and well, we think that Gabriel would welcome her no matter what. He’s in love with her and Emily would have to do something serious, before he would write her off for any reason.
Emily does know how to charm everyone. The patrons love her. They want to take pictures with her. They want to hang out with her. Emily is adorbs to the French. They love her.
At the agency, Camille’s family is a little concerned that Emily is no longer working for them. I am so confused as to why it is that they are allowed to work with Camilles family now? I would have thought that Chicago would still shut them down.
Camilles family is weary of Emily and when they find out that she’s at Gabriels restaurant. They are weary of anything. But like we get it. Only we hate them as much as we hate their daughter. They’re just as manipulative.

Ok hate is a strong word. but hey, strongly dislike.
They go to Gabriels restaurant, they talk to Emily and she pitches canned cocktails to them. It’s a good idea and even they recognize that. Hell, when they tell Sylvie even she recognizes that and that universe is telling her something.
Sylvie is having some trouble. She’s under a bunch of red tape that she doesn’t know how to navigate. Rather than turning to her boyfriend, she calls her husband, and asks him for help.
Sylvie is doing her best, but sometimes her best isn’t something that she feels comfortable with. She always feels like she needs to do more and that complicates things. She can balance like but even in balancing life she finds herself wanting more from every angle. She wants to do better with work. She wants to do more in life. She wants to be more in love.
Sylvie is all of us. She just has more men falling at her feet and for that, we have mad respect.
Emily ends up fired from Gabriels restaurant and it’s not a bad thing. It’s what make her realize that she needs structure. She needs to be in marketing.
And like most things, this is going to work out for Emily too. But we’re okay with that. Sylvie offers her a job back. We’re here for it.
The team is back together, but just because that was easy doesn’t mean that the road ahead will be. Emily in Paris will always surprise us.
