We watch a lot of TV, in case all the reviews, interviews, news, and features didn’t give you a clue (wink, wink), so we decided to come together once a week to highlight all those great moments that our favorite shows give us throughout the week. There are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Badass Character of the Week

Raquel: Debbie in Your Place or Mine. She is a superwoman who worries that her son has everything he needs while she carries out her work as a teacher. And Debbie still has time to excel academically.
Shana: The wolf in Wolf Pack 1×03. Just call it fulfillment with Officer Miller. Although, to be honest, I wouldn’t have exactly been mad at even more carnage.
Jade: I have to give a shout out to Josielyn Aguilera as Gia in this week’s Quantum Leap. High school is hard enough to survive when the question of “survival” isn’t a literal one. Sadly, for LGBTQ+ kids, the struggle to survive is too often exactly that. Aguilera did a tremendous job as Gia in an episode that highlighted the bigotry and ignorance transgender kids often face, while also showing their struggle to fully embrace who they truly are, and to still somehow find a way to just be a kid.
Erin: I am going to have to agree with Jade here. Quantum Leap was amazing this week and Josielyn Aguilera as Gia was fucking amazing. Like blew me away.
OTP of the Week

Raquel: I’m going with Shea again! We didn’t see them much in The Good Doctor‘s last episode but it was great to see them like this, in their everyday lives. The way they face everything together…, is true love.
Shana: I’m truly a sick, clownish person because I’m finally super on board with Garvez from Criminal Minds: Evolution. All it took was that horrible “date” stunt in a previous episode, plus Luke supporting Penelope this week while she was getting all emo about another guy who she never had any business having a thing with to begin with. (Seriously, WTF even, Garcia?) Evidently, the way to get me to go from “I see it, but it’s not for me because I’m still sad over Morgan” to “omg…GUYS” was to promise me suffering. Like I said: Sick and clownish.
Jade: This is NOT ROMANTIC AT ALL, but I’m giving this one to mother/son duo Margaret (Marcia Gay Harden) and Todd (Skylar Astin) on this week’s So Help Me Todd. While their relationship wasn’t the strongest when the series began, we’ve come to see them understand each other better and appreciate each other more over the course of the season. In this week’s episode, they were forced to work independently, and it gave us – and them – a chance to see how much they truly are stronger – and better – together. Whatever their respective love lives may bring, this mother/son dynamic has always been the heart of the show. And that’s something worth celebrating.
Erin: I am going to go with – and lord, I hate that I am saying this – Margaret (Marcia Gay Harden) and Todd (Skylar Astin) on this week’s So Help Me Todd. I really want to say that I trashed Skylar Astin’s character on Zoey’s all the time and so Jade may be shocked I agreed. But I do like him in So Help Me Todd. I binge caught up on this show and it’s a gem. Seeing these two bond and the way that they get along and the way that they have bonded, it’s inspiring.
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Raquel: Your Place or Mine just came out, so no spoilers, but that scene at the airport. It’s a classic one but the movie gave it a twist and the actors really sold the moment that was longed for their characters. Yeah, I screamed!
Shana: Speaking of all things BAU…Agent Rossi, home and safe? All those hugs? I’m a sucker for the feels. (Runner up: That “I’ve missed you so much” line…oof. Mr. Joe Mantegna, your delivery is top notch.)
Jade: There were a lot of emotional moments in this week’s Quantum Leap, but two stand out. First, Gia apologizing to her parents for what they have to face as parents of a transgender kid was absolutely gutting. As a parent, I can only imagine how much my heart would break if my daughter ever felt like there was a single moment of being her mom that I would trade in or regret. But I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention Ian (Mason Alexander Park) admitting to his own struggles as a teen – which nearly caused him to take his own life. Both actors’ performances were raw, vulnerable, and real, and they emotionally wrecked me.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: SPOILERS FOR THE END OF YOUR PLACE OR MINE
“I am madly, deeply, overwhelmingly in love with you” Peter to Debbie, Your Place or Mine.
Shana: “You…were smoking an edible.” – Kristin Ramsey in Wolf Pack (So, basically, I’m still stuck on SMG’s delivery.)
Lyra: “Did you know that diarrhea is hereditary?” “What?” “It runs in your jeans.” – Ellie and Joel, The Last of Us
WTF Moment of the Week

Raquel: Jordan not believing in premarital relations in the latest The Good Doctor. I mean, it felt a little forced for the character but what felt worse is the way she judged her patient when she was not that kind of person.
Shana: This is going to sound like a complaint, but it’s actually praise: The entirety of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches 1×05 is one giant WTF moment. And it’s brilliant because that — that! — is exactly the right feeling to associate with that house, and that family, and that…Lasher. Also, if you’re going to do something involving a time loop, you’d better lean into how much that can mess with someone’s head. And this episode did that. Without a doubt.
Rachel: I have to go with the reveal that Ian is leaping on Quantum Leap. Ummm…WHAT!?????!?! HOW????? WHEN???? Ian was not only never trained to leap, they seem further away from it than literally any other member of the team, so to choose that character for this twist was a brilliant move. I want answers!
Jade: I have to second Rachel’s sentiments. A lot of Quantum Leap is predictable, in that you always know Ben (Raymond Lee) is going to be able to save whatever day needs saving. (And, honestly, that’s a good thing. It’s nice to have the occasional reliable stress-relief show to turn to every week.) As the mystery of the season has built from week-to-week, I’ve speculated all sorts of ways Ben could have originally been set upon his path to leap. Ian visiting him from the future somehow didn’t even occur to me. All I can say is, I can’t wait for next week’s episode, when Ian’s brought into the loop regarding his own (future) activities.
Erin: Jade & Rachel said it best. I agree with them completely.
