We hope that you watched The Professional Bridesmaid this past weekend on The Hallmark Channel and that you found it endearing. We definitely did.
The Professional Bridesmaid tells the story of Maggie, a “professional bridesmaid” whose job it is to make the brides life a lot easier. She’s hired to help with the mayors daughters wedding. Henry is a journalist, who isn’t thrilled that he’s made to cover the wedding, as he’s used to doing more hard hitting pieces. But hey, everything happens for a reason, and with these two, it’s absolutely no different.
So, Maggie has taken on this role, because her BFF is planning the wedding, and in order to finance her company, this would be the thing that could put Maggie on the map. BUT, the hard part is that Henry needs to be basically babysat.
The mayors people are frustrated with Henry, as he wants to ask questions that the mayor doesn’t want to answer. But because Maggie and Henry are getting along, they put Maggie in charge of keeping Henry under control.
At the beginning of the movie, we see Henry and Maggie meeting for the first time. She’s running in the park and he’s riding a bike, but ends up falling over. We thought it was a stunt double.
We were wrong.
We asked Chandler about the incident and if it was a stunt double. Look, it’s not that we think he can’t do his own stunts or ride a bike, but we didn’t think that they would have him fall over (in case of injury). Well, it turns out that it’s different than we thought.
When we said that we “guessed it wasn’t him” the actor said, it was. He continued, “No, we did have a stunt double, but I begged Peter, the director, to let me do one– I’m like, “I can ride a bike, come on.” I wasn’t actually supposed to fall, I was supposed to just go by her and– but I wanted to do this cool little fishtail thing where you clamp down hard on the brake and then you skid. It had been raining that day, so it was muddier and more slippery than I realized, so I just went straight down the first take. Everyone was dead silent. I’m just laying in the mud thinking like, “Oh, my God.” I just talked myself up like, “Let me do it. I can do it.” Then just eat it the very first take. I haven’t seen it, but Peter did say he was going to try and use that one of actually me falling.”
It was definitely a cute “meet cute” moment.
