Well, we never thought that we’d say that a trailer makes us look at a treadmill differently, but here we are. Yes, that’s the first thing that we thought of when watching the trailer for the second installment of Extraction.
Look, Hemsworth may not be our top Chris (Team Chris Evans forever), but when it comes to action movies, he’s up there. Yes, we know fights are choreographed, but we also think looking at this film, we wouldn’t f**k with him. If we were going up against him and we were some mercenaries, we’d put our guns down and just give up. We’d even go as far as to tell him that he’s the better mercenary.
Mama didn’t raise no quitter, but we think she’d understand this one.
In the second film, Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
You can watch the trailer below and decide if you’d face Hemsworth or his character. We wouldn’t fuck with him in either iteration.
You know you wouldn’t and if you tell yourself you would, you’re lying. We said what we said.
Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González.
The movie will be on Netflix June 16, 2023
