The thing about Apple TV+ is that it continues to make very good content and then just puts it out there with basically very little fanfare. John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial seems like the kind of documentary that appeals to the true crime contingent (and we know that’s large), and to general fans of The Beatles. And yet, it’s not really one that’s gotten a lot of promo. Or like, any.
But that’s Apple TV+ for you.
So, I’m here to tell you about it. The three-part documentary series is narrated by Kiefer Sutherland and is set to premiere on December 6th. Yes, in like a week. The docuseries also “features exclusive eyewitness interviews and previously unseen crime scene photos, shedding new light on the life and murder of music and cultural icon John Lennon, and the investigation and conviction of Mark David Chapman, his confessed killer.”
Basically, if you’ve ever been interested in what happened, this is the documentary for you.
