FFS it is about time that someone mentions the vest on The Santa Clauses. It’s about time that the vest comes into play and that Cal realizes that the vest is on the Mad Santa. Of course, he’s then a lying liar that lies versus being honest, but that seems to be a theme.
But the great thing is that Betty is back and we’re finally learning about how Mad Santa came to be.
And hey, Betty returning to the North Pole is the best.
La Bufana being back in an episode is a good turn of events. Finding out that she is one of the Legendary figures is surprising. Also the Easter Bunny as a lemon – I ummm don’t even know what to say there.
But here we are.
Betty is telling Santa and Mrs. Claus about how the Mad Santa came to be. He didn’t like kids being ungrateful and how he had a plan to turn all of the ungrateful kids on earth into nutcrackers. So hey, the elves fought back. La Bufana even resigned from being one of the legendaries in order to be able to use her magic on him and transformed him into a nutcracker.
Who woulda known she was the MVP?
So the vest, well, Call realizing that it’s on the Mad Santa is obvi not thinking clearly, because he heads to try and recover the vest on his own. He doesn’t want to let his Dad down, but also, do you not think that your Dad having to come and save you from the Mad Santa is going to be an issue.
How does Cal know his Dad is going to have to save him? Well, it’s Cal.
Cal opens his mouth and says too much, basically saying he took a sleigh here and he flat out tells them that he’s Santa’s son. For the Mad Santa and Olga, this is their chance to get back to the North Pole and find his amulet. So why not tape Cal and the Santaopolis dude to a wall. I love how the duct tape was just readily available.
When Cal says that his Dad is the best Santa, Mad Santa uses his Santa powers on Cal thinking he doesn’t have much. But as Cal shrinks into whatever it is, Mad Santa’s powers are depleted. He needs to get to the North Pole to find his amulet.
Santa and Mrs. Claus though, they are on their way to try to save Cal. All the vortex’s to the North Pole have been closed, so they do what we would never do. They believe in the power of the postal system.
So hey, good on them.
For one episode, I was impressed with this show. It felt more of the spirit of the franchise and for that I am thankful.
Seeing the Clauses go after Cal made me smile. I loved them jumping into action because their son mattered more than anything and I haven’t felt that this whole time. Santa actually showing he cares a
OTHER THOUGHTS
- Betty coming back and Noel saying she picked the wrong successor made me LOL
- Mrs. Claus is fearless.
- Sandra is the only person in this family on top of everything.
- The opening – I laughed so hard at the journalist.
- You have to watch to see the whole story of the Mad Santa and honestly, I thought that was well done. Betty explained well and made it interesting.
The Santa Clauses is streaming on Disney Plus.
