Love is Blind season 6 tests what it means to fall in love…again. Do looks, money, and other things matter when it comes to matters of the heart? Or can you fall in love with someone sight unseen? Again, we are watching a bunch of hopefuls navigate these questions in season 6 of the series. And since we can’t control ourselves (as evidenced by the breakdown for episodes 1-6 and 7-9), here is our breakdown of episodes 10-11 of season 6!
1. Have your feelings changed in general for the show in comparison to how you felt watching episodes 1-9?
Lizzie: This season has been a rollercoaster! I think every season that we’ve seen has come with more and more awareness, so we’ve lost more and more of the “experiment” side of this show, and that also kinda reflects on us watching. We didn’t know what was coming in Season 1, and by this point, we’re jaded, we know what to expect, we have our favorites, but there are also some tells we can kinda recognize. So yeah, I think that’s more big picture, but in this Season, I think I went in more hopeful it was going to have more Season 4 more vibes, and it’s giving more Season 2, what can I say?
Lyra: My feelings have absolutely changed. The main feeling being WHERE ARE THE ACTUAL CAMERAS!? Because things happened, moments we wanted to see happened, but the audience didn’t get them. Was Netflix asleep at the wheel? But kudos on surprising me again and again when I thought nothing could surprise me anymore.
2. What was your favorite meet-the-family moment from these episodes?
Lizzie: Johnny and Amy meeting Amy’s dad ACTUALLY made me tear up, what was that? Was that real emotion in this show? I shouldn’t be surprised, because these two have been the only ones doing real emotion, but it still kinda caught me off guard. What a genuine man, and the way he made it clear that he wasn’t just giving his “daughter away,” but that Johnny was joining the family, that’s what got me.
Lyra: I’m with Lizzie on this. The trailer for Love is Blind season 6 made it seem like there was going to be drama between Amy and Johnny when she introduced him to her dad. But gasp. The dad was super chill and reasonable. And even though he had his hesitations, her dad trusts Amy and her choices. That trust in her is what gave me the feelings.
3. Were we actually bamboozled by Chelsea, because that argument with Jimmy was wild?!
Lizzie: I feel like she was actually gaslighting Jimmy, and us. I sat down for a bit after that argument and went back through every one of their conversations, and though I don’t think I ever thought he was “the” bad guy, I certainly think I respect him more seeing how he stood up for his friend in that fight with Chelsea. Because the way she disrespected another woman, and Jimmy, and brought up on camera something she had been asked to keep private was the final nail of the coffin of Chelsea for me. Insecurity cannot take you this far, Chelsea. It’s nasty. You need to look inward.
Even if I give her grace and say that she isn’t doing it maliciously, she’s still letting her insecurities take her to a place where she turns into a mean girl. And this isn’t even all about Jimmy, but why would Jimmy want to be with a woman that turns like that under light pressure? What’s she gonna do when things turn really hard? Cut your losses and run, Jimmy. Run fast.
Lyra: All my grace for Chelsea has gone out the window. I get insecurities. We all have them. And I’ve felt for her throughout the season because I think Jimmy has been disappointed from day one that she didn’t look like Megan Fox. And he chose Chelsea because he thought she looked like that. But the way that Chelsea brought up her insecurities about Jimmy’s friend, went too far. He told her that in confidence and because she seemed to be chill with his friends. It was honesty.
Chelsea then turned around and basically wanted him to cut contact with his friends. That’s not a relationship. That’s not trust. And there is something so malicious about wanting to separate your partner from his friends or the things that they love. Just because you’re in a relationship doesn’t mean that you suddenly stop being your own person. Chelsea doesn’t get that. And kudos to Jimmy for basically telling her no and that she had crossed a line because she did.
4. Why is Clay consistently worried about cheating? Is he going to make it down the aisle with AD?
Lizzie: Clay is a child and I don’t think he realizes what marriage entails, which is hilarious to me because he signed up for Love is freaking Blind. What did he think he was signing up for? The Perfect Match? Someone, please explain to Clay the rules of the show he is on. I don’t think he actually understands.
For AD’s sake, I hope this man bails before the altar. Because if this man does say yes, he’s gonna disappoint her. He doesn’t know what he wants, much less what he needs. And she deserves much better than a man who doesn’t look at her like he wants her and needs her.
Lyra: I’m really wondering why Clay signed up for Love is Blind if he wasn’t ready for marriage and if he was so worried about cheating. Like AD knows what she wants and came ready to be married and find the one. And he’s consistently putting ideas into the world and in AD’s mind that he’s eventually going to fail her so she’s not surprised when he does.
5. Are we Team Laura or Team Jeramey? Or Team Sarah Ann?
Lizzie: There is no Team Jeramemey or whatever his name is. And there sure as hell is no Team Sarah Ann. But those two are actually perfect for each other and they should stay the hell away from my beautiful and somewhat neurotic but still mostly blameless queen Laura, who deserves to be far away from their mess. That’s what she deserves. Peace and quiet. And a boyfriend who is smart enough to take off his Apple Watch when he’s going to go cheat on her.
And if anyone is really Team Jearaamey or can spell his name, please stop talking to me.
Lyra: The best part of Love is Blind episodes 10-11 is that Laura isn’t taking anyone’s garbage. Not Jeramey or Sarah Anne’s. And sure, she’s intense as ever. But she knows who she is and isn’t afraid to speak up on it and defend herself. Personally I wish we could all be a little more like her, especially when someone like Jeremy is consistently gaslighting her but also acting like he doesn’t owe Laura an explanation before galavanting off with pick me girl Sarah Anne.
7. Who is going to make it down the aisle and actually get married?
Lizzie: Amy and Johnny, that’s it. And they’re the only ones who should, so. That’s a win in my book.
Lyra: Without a doubt Amy and Johnny. They’re the only ones who feel genuine and like they’ve truly understood the assignment when it comes to what this show is truly about.
6. Is there one moment from the upcoming reunion that you want to happen?
Lizzie: Can they let ME host it instead of Nick and Vanessa? EVERYONE needs to get roasted this year, and I’m afraid they’re not going to roast anyone. We need so many answers! Jearamaney! His relationship with Sarah Ann! His …fiance? Kenneth and his phone! Matthew and his …everything! Trevor and his …eh, girlfriend?
Lyra: I need Jeramey to be questioned. Sarah Ann too. And not some gentle probing either where they slam one person and the other gets away with it like nothing. Neither do I want something like what happened with Jackie where she didn’t want to face the music after all the drama of her season. And audience questions…let it be a thing like Love is Blind: Brazil.
