Here we go!
Fears that Come to Life in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05089R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05089R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
At the beginning of Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” Colin confronts Penelope after discovering her identity as Lady Whistledown. He, like an idiot, was worried about her but here is Penelope, betraying him, lying to him, hurting him. It seems unbelievable that he thought he wasn’t worthy of her, that he blamed himself for not being worthy when she was the one who didn’t deserve him. He will never forgive her.
Every word is a devastating blow to Penelope who is watching her worst nightmare come true in front of her eyes and she can’t even speak before Colin leaves. But does Colin really mean what he said? Of course not. He is angry, disappointed, and hurt. The pain is heard through his words and he even sheds a tear when he tells Penelope that he will never forgive her when he thinks about actually losing her forever, because he can barely conceive of his life without her.
Colin’s words in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” are those of a wounded man who feels betrayed by the person he loves most and trusts most in the world. Don’t get us wrong, they hurt like hell and we don’t justify them, but we understand why Colin says what he says, even if he doesn’t mean it.
Frankly, we were quite disappointed that Eloise didn’t want to help Penelope when she told her that Colin knows everything in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” She is in the middle, yes, but precisely because of that, because she knows them both, because she loves them both, and she also had to face this discovery, she is the one to talk to Colin.
We like that Penelope lets Eloise know what her friendship means to her, especially at a time when she doubted it, but we hate feeling like Penelope was begging for help and Eloise was happy to reject her. We were ready to get on screen and make some things clear to Eloise when she and Colin had that conversation in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.”
“Have You Forgiven Her?”
![](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_03928R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_03928R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
Eloise wants Colin to know that she tried to get Penelope to tell him — even though it would have been nice to tell him that Penelope was going to do just that — and Colin makes a very fair point when he reproaches Eloise that she should have told him. And that’s right, instead of issuing a stupid ultimatum, Eloise should have told Colin the truth or trusted Penelope to do so.
Of course, Eloise also has a fair point in that Colin should have told her how he felt about Penelope before engaging with her. However, this exchange of reproaches leads them nowhere. And Eloise knows it. That’s why she wants Colin to know that when she found out about Penelope, she didn’t have the strength to talk to anyone about it and that afterward, she thought there was no point in breaking his heart, not when the solution was right before their eyes. She didn’t want to see him suffer…
And this year Penelope didn’t do anything wrong as Whistledown. Her column has sharp comments but nothing devastating. Although Colin does remember something devastating directed at him in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” He remembers how Whistledown talked about how he didn’t know himself, but deep down, what has Colin upset is the truth in those words.
Penelope sees him like no one else does, it makes sense that Whistledown would see through his facade. And Colin can’t bear to know that this truth about himself, a thing that he only dared to confess to Penelope was coming to light so that the entire Ton could know.
But he’s not the only one whose secrets were spread throughout Whistledown. Despite what Penelope wrote about Eloise, did she forgive her? And she is honest with him. She hasn’t yet but she wants to. The rage and pain that blinded her no longer burn as intensely and she wants her best friend back. But the question is, can Colin forgive her? And he doesn’t have an answer for that yet, he just knows that feeling betrayed by the person you love feels like hell and it’s his reality now.
Getting Married for the Wrong Reasons in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_00774R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_00774R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
When Polin’s wedding is around the corner in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” Penelope is desperate for Colin to at least look at her. She is hurt that he can’t even do that… but Colin makes it clear that he is there, by her side, to keep up with the appearances. Penelope asks him for the first time if he’s calling off the wedding. If he can barely look at her, how is he going to marry her?
And Colin’s response devastates Penelope. She dreamed of him telling her that he would never do that because he loves her and couldn’t not marry her but, after what Colin told her, Penelope would have preferred him to tell her that he was going to cancel the wedding. Colin made it clear to her that if he is going to marry her it’s because he is a gentleman, a man of honor and they have become intimate… he even, as an afterthought, tells her that maybe that was part of her plan to catch him.
Again, Colin is letting himself get carried away by his anger and says things that he doesn’t mean, comparing Penelope to what Marina did. And, even though we know Colin doesn’t really feel this way, he’s starting to piss us off. And Penelope feels the same. She feels hurt that Colin told her that, that he insinuated that she somehow wanted to force him to marry her, just as her mother insinuated, just like Marina did. Penelope makes it clear to Colin that the only reason she has sex with him, the only reason why she trusts him that way, is because she loves him.
And, not for the first time in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” Penelope wonders what her marriage will be like. Is it going to be like this, full of mistrust and painful accusations, full of coldness? But not even Colin himself knows that. It all depends on whether Penelope stops publishing or not. And this is very unfair on Colin’s part. He can’t truly love Penelope if he loves her conditionally, and he can’t ask Penelope to give up a part of herself to be with him.
Penelope is honest with Colin and tells him that she doesn’t know if she will stop publishing. She was willing to make that sacrifice before but, after she started writing again…losing that felt like losing a part of herself and she didn’t feel like she could do it. And even less if, despite that, her relationship with Colin would remain hurt… if she loses him, Whistledown is the only thing Penelope has.
This is not the answer Colin expected. It infuriates him. If Penelope loves him so much, why doesn’t she choose him over Whistledown? But the point is that if Colin loved her as much as he says — and we know he does — he would never make her choose. So they find themselves at a crossroads…they can only take one step at a time. First, marriage, and then they will take care of the rest…
True Love Has No Conditions
![](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05053R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05053R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
In Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” the situation with Penelope leads Colin to not stop drinking on the last night before the wedding, while Penelope decides to pay a visit to the only friend she has left: Genevieve. With her, Penelope can unburden herself and confess that a part of her is relieved that Colin finally knows. Hiding that secret from him was killing her. But Colin hates her for it.
And it’s a nightmare. Penelope is going to marry the man she loves and she doesn’t feel worthy of him. Genevieve speaks of Whistledown as a woman who made some reckless decisions because she didn’t yet know her own power, that doesn’t justify them but she can no longer go back, only be faithful to her decisions.
And we like this definition of Whistledown’s work. We feel that Penelope is constantly apologizing and shaming herself for her identity as Whistledown as if she were the villain of the story when in reality she is not. Whistledown is also synonymous with good things.
Genevieve asks Penelope the million-dollar question in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands:” Is she going to continue publishing? And Penelope doesn’t have an answer to that question, she just knows that not doing it feels like losing a part of her. And it’s Genevieve who makes her see that there is no true love if Penelope has not first embraced her true self. She can’t give up one part of herself to embrace another. Penelope is who she is and she should be proud of that, and whoever truly loves her, should love her completely, all of her.
And Genevieve is right. If Colin really loves Penelope, he can’t ask her to give up a part of her for him because that would mean that Colin doesn’t love her but the idea of her that he has.
When Penelope, now calmer, leaves Genevieve’s store in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” the last thing she expects is to meet Colin. But there she is. When he sees her, the anger clouds Colin’s mind again and he can accuse her of making secret deals. The Penelope he knew would never have done something like that but he feels like he doesn’t know the person he has in front of him.
Insecurities and Fears in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05167R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05167R.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&ssl=1)
But Colin is not the only one who is suspicious. That’s not a recommended place and with how angry Colin is… Penelope thinks that Colin may have been with someone else and she hates it because just thinking about it hurts like hell. But no matter how angry he is, Colin would be able to do something like that because he loves her so much. That’s the truth, Colin would like to hate her, but his heart still beats for her.
That’s why it makes him mad that Penelope would even hint at something like that, especially after she kept so many secrets and did so much damage. And Penelope accepts it all in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” She is aware of the damage she caused. Colin can’t help but ask about what she wrote about Eloise and Penelope explains that she did it to protect her… but that she realized she was wrong. Just like it happened with Marina. On that occasion, she was protecting him.
And this bothers us. Again, Whistledown is portrayed as if she were the villain of the story and she is not. Penelope did the best she could at that moment. Did she make risky decisions? Of course. Could she have done better? Surely yes, but at that time, she didn’t have many options and she chose the best one she had.
Why doesn’t Penelope stand up for herself and tell Colin how she tried to stop Marina from cheating on him? Why doesn’t she remind him that even he didn’t believe her? Why doesn’t Penelope tell him all the times she tried to get Eloise to stop looking for Whistledown and seeing Theo? Yes, Penelope may have made difficult decisions but there was always a reason behind them. And this was the perfect time for her to explain it to him.
That said, Colin does have a point when he tells Penelope that she should have told him her true identity before. Of course, he doesn’t really believe that the reason is because Penelope doesn’t respect him, but we get a glimpse here of the sense of inferiority Colin feels toward Penelope.
That feeling of inferiority is even clearer when in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” Colin demands what Penelope wrote about him in her column and everything that comes after. Penelope just wanted the man she knew and loved back. When Colin returned from his trip he did so as a shell of himself, as a man who pretended not to care about anything or anyone. But he is not the man Penelope loves. That man is not Colin.
Colin is a kind man, with character and a good heart. And yeah, Penelope knows that she should have been sincere from the beginning but fear paralyzed her and now with the confidence that he helped her find, she can finally do it, she finally dares to show who she is. But if this is so, Colin feels that Penelope no longer needs Whistledown at all. It’s true, that Penelope no longer feels the need to hide behind her alter ego, but Whistledown is still valuable, she can still do a lot of good.
The World’s Full of Envious People
![](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/BRIDGERTON_302_Unit_01656R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
It’s at this moment in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” when Colin hears Penelope speak like this about her work as Whistledown, that the envy he feels gets out of control. He let her comment on his diary, as if he were a great writer, when of the two she is a published and recognized writer. For her, the fact that he asked her for help was surely something to make fun of him for. Nothing could be further from the truth. What Penelope said, she meant it.
But Colin can’t stop, his anger is increasing, because he feels more and more useless, more and more small before the incredible woman he has next to him. Penelope is so reckless to put herself in danger by living a double life…yet she can take care of herself, so he can’t help but wonder what use he is to her. And here is the key.
Penelope loves him not for the security she can provide him or his ability to save her, but for himself. She just needs Colin to be by her side, supporting her, holding her, and facing together whatever comes. But Colin is unable to close this, to internalize it.
Colin only feels worthy and deserving of Penelope’s love if he feels that he can provide for her, and give her something that she cannot get for herself because Colin feels that he is not enough. After all, he is just a third child, without a title, and with the pretensions of being a writer while she is an impressive woman and a brilliant writer. And a big part of him envies her for the latter, however pathetically it sounds.
But for Penelope, he is enough and she is there, desperately crying out her love for him in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” And, for God’s sake, she is so tempting that he can’t help but desire her, despite his anger. Colin can’t help but kiss her, devour her, as he had been wanting to do for a long time, he needs to have her right there, in the middle of a dark alley in Mayfair, but the sound of a carriage interrupts them and the moment is broken.
When the desire dissipates and Colin comes to his senses, he puts a distance between them, builds walls so high that Penelope can’t scale them, and puts her in the carriage home…alone. And it’s a shame because this was the perfect scene for them to have realized that they both have the same fears and insecurities.
Love is the Only Thing That Matters in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_01687R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_01687R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
Colin arrives at his house in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” and the last thing he expects to find is his brothers waiting for him. But there they are. And they know that something is up with Penelope, it doesn’t help Colin to pretend.
But Colin whenever he can’t tell them exactly what’s going on, can’t confess Penelope’s secret to them. Be that as it may, thinking about revealing her secret to other people, even his siblings, he feels like he is betraying her and he can’t do it.
But he can’t help but confess to them that he isn’t sure if he knows Penelope, not anymore. Colin feels that the person he has known for years is someone other than the real Penelope, just a facade she puts on for others while she keeps her secrets safe.
Kate and Anthony don’t need to know details but Kate makes him think about whether what Colin discovered about Penelope erases everything he feels for her, everything she means to him, everything he has felt for her all those years, everything that they shared…and Colin doesn’t even have to think about it.
The answer is no. Knowing Penelope’s true identity doesn’t change any of that. And a part of him would have wanted it to, it would have been easier to hate her than to feel that pain… but he can’t deny the truth: he still loves her, and knowing the truth didn’t change that.
Meanwhile, Penelope prepares for her wedding to Colin in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” knowing that, although everything seems bright, her future with Colin does not. Colin waits for her at the altar and when he sees Penelope he gasps. She is the woman he loves, she is beautiful and she is his. And suddenly, nothing else exists, not the guests, not Whistledown, just her. Penelope. His Pen.
But Penelope can’t do it. She can’t marry the man she loves like this, with that tension and anger hanging between them, with a man who can barely look at her and knowing that Colin is waiting for her at that altar because he feels honor-bound to do so, for nothing more. So Penelope stands in the middle of the wedding aisle, she’s not willing to do this. Then she looks at Colin, her eyes connect with him, and Colin nods, smiling.
That changes everything. It’s a silent conversation. Colin doesn’t want to get married that way either, thinking about all the things that separate them. But if he is there, waiting for her in front of the altar, it’s out of love, not honor. He wants nothing more than to marry her, he wants to marry her. Only then does Penelope finally smile and walk down that hallway.
Colin takes Penelope as his wife in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” looking into her eyes with all the love he feels for her overflowing and holding her hands firmly. At that moment nothing or no one exists but them, they are in their own bubble, in their own world where only the immense love they feel for each other matters, where they feel that there is nothing they cannot overcome. They can’t stop smiling and don’t let go of each other’s hands, almost as if it were a silent promise not to let each other go. Never.
The First Dance Out of the Shadows in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_02491R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_02491R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
After their wedding in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” Polin need to be together to talk and clarify everything between them, to begin to repair what they have because what they felt at their wedding reminded them of the most important thing: how much they love each other.
Finally, they meet in a corner of the room and Penelope asks Colin to get away from there. She has already been alienated to a corner, to the shadows, for too long, she wants to be in the center, she wants to dance with her husband in the light of day in front of the entire Ton.
Penelope no longer feels that the shadows are her place, she is now confident enough to take her place in the center without caring what others think of it, of her. This is character growth. And Colin can’t help but do it, he can’t deny her anything. In that moment, their gazes connect and they are once again in that world of theirs alone, where nothing exists but the love and passion they feel and how they fit perfectly with each other.
For Colin, at this moment in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” there is only her. His Pen. All of his walls, the ones he had built to keep away from Penelope since he discovered the truth, are out. Only Penelope remains. Colin caresses her face with infinite longing and love. No matter how angry he is, his love for her continues to grow, his heart continues to pump for her and only her name is burned into it. And he misses her.
He misses the softness of her skin, having her body against his, kissing her, caressing her, he misses her. All of her. And just when he goes to kiss her, the Queen breaks the magic and reality becomes present again. But this time the Queen makes everything worse by accusing the Bridgertons.
Penelope doesn’t know what to do, Colin and Eloise look at her nervously and Penelope is about to do it, about to reveal herself as Whistledown in front of the Queen, but she is afraid of the consequences that this could have for the Bridgertons. She doesn’t want them to suffer the consequences of her secret… and she prefers to remain silent. Which is the best decision, although we would have loved to see Penelope challenge the Queen herself in this scene.
“I Am Whistledown and That Will Not Change”
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05367R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_05367R.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&ssl=1)
The Queen’s accusations in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” make Whistledown a physical presence that comes between Colin and Penelope once again. The bubble they had been living in since their wedding burst.
But now it’s even worse because the Queen pointed directly at the entire Bridgerton family and, although remembering how much he loves Penelope made Colin calm down and will not let his anger dominate him, the path forward is clear to him: Penelope must give up being Whistledown.
In the end, the Queen will end up finding out, but more importantly, if she doesn’t, if Penelope doesn’t give up her alter ego, Whistledown, and the lie Penelope orchestrated to hide her it will loom over them, preventing them from being happy.
Again, in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” Colin is being too obtuse and unfair. Love doesn’t exist halfway or under conditions. And he also doesn’t understand why Whistledown is so important to Penelope, how could he? Colin always had a safe place to be himself and the opportunity to explore who he really was, Penelope, as a woman, did not. Whistledown was that place for her.
Colin, being a man, has the freedom to choose the person he wants to be, but women do not have that privilege. Their entire life, their entire future, is dictated from the moment they are born and they must hide the parts that don’t fit with what society dictates that they should be. And we give Penelope a standing ovation for this speech. She is right.
But Penelope goes further in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” She makes it clear to Colin that she is Lady Whistledown and that is not going to change. And it’s the first time that we see her show pride in who she is and highlight in front of others what Whistledown means, not only for her but for all women. This is just what we wanted to see.
Furthermore, Penelope here is making it clear to Colin that Lady Whistledown is not something that can be detached from, but rather that it’s part of her, of who she is and Colin cannot expect part of her to simply disappear. Colin can’t pretend to love her halfway. Either he loves her or he doesn’t, it’s that simple.
And right there is the root of the problem. Colin cannot accept that Lady Whistledown is part of Penelope, that they are two parts of a whole. For him, they’re two different people and, while he loves Penelope with all his might, he despises and envies Whistledown.
Penelope cannot believe that they’re going to spend their wedding night in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” like this, distanced, being so close but so far at the same time, miles from each other, and with their brand new marriage hanging in the balance. But that’s how things are. And Penelope is devastated, she can’t help but cry in Eloise’s arms because she feels in her bones that, married or not, she lost Colin.
The Devil is in the Small Details in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”

As it could not be otherwise, Cressida’s next column as Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” reflects her cruelty while, just as Eloise feared, she spreads lies about the Bridgertons. Luckily, Penelope’s column arrives just in time to discredit her, so the Ton already knows that Cressida is a fake…and that has big consequences.
Cressida’s father permanently banishes her out of her Ton and her mother doesn’t help her, leaving her alone. And if we thought Portia was the worst mother, Cressida’s mother beats her to the punch. She convinced Cressida to attack the Bridgertons in the column, thus earning her envy of them. Cressida agreed because of how angry she was with Eloise. But now, her mother is leaving Cressida to bear all the consequences of what they both did alone. And Cressida realizes her mistake.
Eloise was her friend, the only person she could really count on in her entire life, and in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” she has turned her back on her, betrayed her, attacking her family. Eloise would not have left her alone like her own mother did.
As her mother points out, she raised Cressida to know that she should only take care of herself — a lesson she is now applying — and that is part of the problem. Cressida internalized that and always treated everyone else as enemies, trying to crush them to excel herself… and enjoying the process knowing that she made them feel as bad as she felt.
But it’s too late for that. It’s too late to think about how everything could have been if Cressida had been different. She is alone and no one is going to help her get out of the hell that awaits her. The only thing left for her is the reward the Queen offers, so she tries, desperately, to find the real Whistledown… but she finds much more than she thinks. She ends up finding the truth.
The Pride of Being Who You Are

In Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” we discover that we misinterpreted everything about Benedict in the previous episode. His relationship with Lady Tilley doesn’t end, but he takes it a step further by introducing a threesome into the equation. It’s the first time that Benedict is specifically shown with a man, coming out as bisexual.
Benedict is afraid of letting himself be carried away by his most intimate desires due to the corseted society in which he lives. Even for a libertine like him, accepting that he is bisexual is complicated, but when he finally embraces who he really is… that’s beautiful.
That said, this storyline with Lady Tilley still seems like a throwback to Benedict from season 1. We assumed that Colin had already had threesomes and orgies when he was at those sex parties he went to with Genevieve back in season 1. However, given his doubts about this in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands,” we can deduce that this wasn’t the case.
There were plenty of ways for Benedict to come out as bisexual without it involving this weird story with Lady Tilley. Can you imagine having seen Benedict advising his brothers much more? Can you imagine if they had shown us how he felt when he felt that Anthony had bought his way into the Art Academy? They wasted Benedict’s character for six episodes.
So, long story short, do we like that Benedict came out as bisexual? HELL YEAH. Did we like the plot chosen to get there? Not at all.
Putting Things in Order in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands”
![](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_00518R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_00518R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
In Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” Violet has no idea how to fix things with Francesca after their fight in the previous episode. And, as always, Lady Danbury is at her side. But there is one topic that neither of them dares to talk about: Marcus. Lady Danbury knows that something is brewing between them and Violet knows that the two brothers don’t get along and Agatha doesn’t agree with Marcus courting her.
And Violet just wants her to know that she values her as a friend, it’s not about her connections with the Queen or the rest of the Ton, it’s about that Agatha is her best friend and she would never do anything to harm that friendship, to harm her, Including letting her brother court her.
And so Violet lets Marcus know when he comes to visit her. She feels the same way about him, she wants more with him but her children are her priority and in any case, if they are going to be a thing, Marcus needs to talk to his sister. Violet loves Lady Danbury too much to start anything with her brother without her blessing. That would be like betraying her and, no matter how she feels about Marcus, she never will. A Lady, indeed.
Marcus follows Violet’s advice and tells his side of the story to his sister in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands.” He was just a ten-year-old boy who didn’t know what he was doing, he wasn’t aware of what he was condemning his sister. His father made them both feel that they were not up to par, but only Agatha had the strength and courage to face him, to try to escape.
Marcus was always envious of that, of her bravery, and he wanted to impress her, but he was a boy trying to be a man and he didn’t know how to do it. And we understand it. Agatha was too hard, as she admits, on him.
Marcus didn’t even know how the world worked when he ratted her out to her father. Understandably, Agatha blamed him for everything she suffered because she needed to blame someone for her fate but, in reality, Marcus was just a child, the real culprit was her father.
And Agatha was so afraid that Marcus would take away her joy, everything she had achieved. He is the symbol of a past that Agatha desperately tries to forget. But Marcus doesn’t want to do that. He also seeks that same joy and wants to share it with her, with his sister. After an unhappy childhood and an adulthood filled with resentment towards each other, both brothers are ready to leave bad memories behind and be united again. And we’re sobbing!
Knowing the Roots…at the Worst Time Ever
![Bridgerton 3x07](https://i0.wp.com/fangirlish.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/BRIDGERTON_307_Unit_03414R.jpgBRIDGERTON_307_Unit_03414R.jpg?resize=1024%2C684&ssl=1)
We don’t like at all what Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” does with Kanthony. It’s sweet and important in terms of representation and diversity that Anthony wants his son to know his mother’s history and roots, and also that he wants to do the same so that all three of them can share that.
However, no one can believe that precisely Anthony, who saw his mother suffer from a potentially fatal birth, decides that he wants to go on a tremendously long boat trip with his wife who is pregnant with their first child. That trip is definitely uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. There’s no way Anthony would put Kate in that position.
So it was very noticeable that in Bridgerton 3×07 “Joining of Hands” they forced a meaningless exit for Kanthony and we don’t understand why. We should have had great scenes between siblings, with advice from Anthony and Kate to Colin or even Penelope, the presence of both at Francesca and John’s wedding, and their reactions to Penelope’s secret… but we are not going to have any of that because they decided to get these characters out of the way for no apparent reason. What a shame!

- Prudence envying Portia’s attention to Penelope satisfies us and makes us feel sorry for her at the same time.
- Penelope is surprised that Prudence has kind words for her. We want to hug her. Has Prudence realized that she was unfair to Penelope?
- Portia and Violet know that something is going on between Polin but for once Portia lets Penelope handle it. And she does the right thing.
- John thinks Violet doesn’t like him and wants to be bold… with some planning. LMAO. He’s so cute!
- Wasting the moment when Benedict knows that something is happening with Polin and not giving us a scene between brothers is sacrilege.
- We wanted a carriage scene 2.0!
- Colin and Kate’s hug is EVERYTHING.
- Kate gives the best advice.
- The Queen’s search for Lady Whistledown is causing her more than one headache… but it makes her think less about the author’s identity and more about what she writes.
- Eloise should have defended Penelope a lot more in this one, showing that a certain part of her understood everything Penelope had done as Whistledown.
- Hearing Colin tell Penelope that he destroyed Marina’s life was hard.
- Kanthony saying that her wedding was perfect… well, we can’t know since WE DIDN’T SEE IT.
- Eloise crying at the wedding of her best friend and her brother…
- Penelope is the most beautiful bride, we swear.
- Polin’s hands at the wedding. THEIR HANDS!
- The wedding is beautiful.
- Benedict’s words to Eloise about her friendship with Colin and Penelope brought tears to our eyes.
- Hyacinth, we love you but Polin really needed to meet and talk…
- Portia and her way of comforting Penelope…
- We can’t believe we’re saying this but Portia deserves to walk Penelope down the aisle. In some ways, their relationship has softened and Portia is trying to learn from her mistakes and Penelope is being able to see the sacrifices her mother had to make to provide for them.
- John and Francesca are dancing!
- Anthony behaves like the protective eldest son. LMAO.
- The moment when Colin tells Penelope that she is now a Bridgerton while he holds her hand. We are DEAD!
- Francesca and John are free to get married!
- Eloise comforts Penelope. Our Peneloise heart!
- The timeline is too diffuse in this one.
- The episode lacks a balance between drama and romance. We need more romance!
Bridgerton season 3 Part 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
The writers just killed the show, what happened to the characters? What happened to family? What a mess they have made of the Bridgertons and this fanfiction! I feel like they are trying hoping the fans don’t overthink it or we will “confuse your thoughts” (throwback makes sense).
