Wednesday, August 14: Bad Monkey

Bill Lawrence continues his streak at Apple with this crime drama adapted from an acclaimed novel. Vince Vaughn stars as Andrew Yancy, a disgraced ex-cop now doing inspections in Florida. When tourists find a severed arm, Yancy sees an opportunity to get his career back. The case gets complicated and corrupt, revealing the underbelly of tourism, development, and the environment.

Wednesday, August 14: Daughters
This award-winning documentary puts a deeply human face on the woes of the carceral system. It follows a program called “Date with a Dad,” created by the nonprofit Girls for a Change. Currently-incarcerated fathers complete a program, culminating in a semi-formal dance with their daughters.

Thursday, August 15: Bel-Air Season 3

Peacock’s updated take on the iconic Fresh Prince returns for a third season in the week of August 12. School may be out for summer, but the drama never takes a vacation. Will finds himself dealing with romantic questions at the same time as his father’s unexpected return. Meanwhile, Carlton works on his own recovery, multiple relationships are in jeopardy, and at least one Fresh Prince alum is joining the cast.

Thursday, August 15: Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 1

Bonjour, mes amis! Netflix’s giddy, glossy dramedy is back for the first half of its fourth season. Emily (Lily Collins) is still (yes, still) in the midst of a love triangle. Only this time, it’s complicated by a failed wedding and surprise pregnancy. The fourth season is also set to feature professional shakeups, plenty of personal drama, and a much-anticipated “Roman holiday.” After Part 1 arrives in the week of August 12, Part 2 will release in September.

Friday, August 16: RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars
Who doesn’t love second chances? The latest Drag Race spinoff brings back a dozen fan-favorite drag queens from around the world. They’ll compete to impress an international panel of judges, showing off their humor, heart, wit, and glamour. The winner who emerges from this stylish dozen will win a spot in the International Pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame, a the grand prize of $200,000, and the title of “Queen of the Motherf***ing World.”

Friday, August 15: Lost Treasures of Rome Season 2

For the history geeks among us, this Nat Geo series digs deep (pun intended) into the corners of ancient history. Season 2 features archaeological expeditions to uncover some of ancient Rome’s most famed sites and stories. The first episode focuses on the Coliseum, while future episodes will cover Pompeii, the Roman frontier, the age of Nero, and more.
