Love is Blind season 7 is around the corner and with it we’ve got a wish list of what we want to see. Because after so many years, and spin-offs, this show has become a staple in the finding love reality space. But it has also become a breeding ground for social media influencer wannabes while also giving us the same kind of body types over and over. And we want something a little different while keeping the heart of this show going. So, here are 5 things we want from Love is Blind season 7!
1. Less influencer wannabes
From Bartise to Shake and Sarah Ann, there are a slew of Love is Blind contestants who were in it for the social media clout. This takes away from the experience because they’re never truly in it to find love. They’re there to dabble in some drama, lead someone on, and then cash in on the 15 minutes of fame that they get. And we understand that one clout chaser is needed for drama. But it feels like the the vetting process needs to be a little tighter to keep the authenticity of the show true. It should be Love is Blind and not This is How You Become a Social Media Influencer.

2. Some actual love matches
Over seven seasons, there have been some genuine love matches. From Johnny and Amy to the OG’s Lauren and Cameron, some are in it to find love in a dating world that is a disaster. This spirit of the show should continue being the guiding light of Love is Blind season 7. Because in our heart we know that it’s a reality TV show. They have to pull specific strings to start the drama and the intrigue. But it’s also a show about love. And when you put people in these intense situations where they are exclusively focused on forming connections, sometimes genuine ones happen. We want more of that.

3. More twists & turns
From Lydia and Uche knowing each other before to Jeramey lying about where he was with Sarah Ann, we love twists and turns. It keeps Love is Blind fresh and shows that humans are fallible and make mistakes. It’s even better when we get to see the aftermath on camera. Which…this is kind of part 3B of what we want from season 7: cameras. We know they follow the cast around all the time. So why are we missing out on these scenes? It’s an experience. Give us the full one because you know contestants are going to learn after the Jeramey Apple watch incident.

4. Different body types
Love is Blind has stagnated when it comes to casting contestants of different body types. And it doesn’t reflect the reality of our shared existence. “Oh but this a show for hot people.” People will different body types can be hot. That’s why we need more thick ladies and bear like men. On top of that, there are people with physical disabilities who have been on the spin-off shows like Bianca Sessa in the Brazil edition. The US version needs to up there game and show a full spectrum of bodies.

5. Drama, of course
Yes, we come to Love is Blind for the love. But we also come to this show for the drama. Because an intense dating experience, comes with intense emotions. And there are blowouts, miscommunications, and the occasional scandal. We want to experience that alongside the contestants as they try to figure out if love is truly blind.

Love is Blind season 7 premieres October 2, 2024 on Netflix.
