Here we go!
Unpaid Debts in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’

William barely has time to recover from the emotional whirlwind of the previous episode when Jane comes back into his life in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’ and, this time, she brings with her her little sister Fanny. The two are on the run and need William’s protection and, while Jane trusts William enough to know that he won’t refuse, their relationship has an underlying tension due to the obvious attraction and passion that exists between them.
Jane doesn’t hesitate to offer herself to William in exchange for his protection, but William doesn’t want that. He doesn’t want her as a whore. He wants Jane to go to him because she really wants to because she chooses and wants to be with him. Not because of some kind of exchange for him to protect her and her sister, that’s something William will do without Jane feeling obligated to do anything. For Jane, the situation is more complicated. She likes William and something tells her that she can trust him, that’s why she sets out with her sister to find him, but in her world, favors are paid for. No one does anything for anyone without asking for something in return.
In Jane’s world, you can’t trust anyone, no matter how pretty their face is, what promises they make, or how kind and noble they seem. From her experience, Jane knows that those are usually the worst. And it’s her sister we’re talking about, so she’s not going to leave anything to chance. She’s going to make sure she gets William’s protection the only way she knows how. With him, it doesn’t feel like a sacrifice, it doesn’t feel like she’s making any exchange. William treats her with respect, with delicacy, like a lady. And she hates that William takes that away from her by rejecting her in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It.’
However, that kiss is full of passion, desire, and other feelings that Jane is afraid to name, and William’s words manage to make her lower her guard and tell him the truth about why they are there. That voice that tells her that she can trust William is stronger than ever and Jane takes a leap of faith guided by it, hoping not to be wrong.
In Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It,’ Jane knows that there is not much of a future for her, she knows it from the moment she decides to stay in the brothel to kill Harkness instead of running away, but Fanny is something else. She has to have a better life and future than she had and that is why Jane is fighting. Jane entrusts William with the most precious and important thing she has: her sister Fanny. And William will do whatever it takes to not let her down…even though sometimes that’s not enough.

Unexpected Reunions

Lord John doesn’t have much time to absorb everything that’s happened in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’ either and his reunion with Jamie and Claire doesn’t help. Claire can’t believe she’s seeing him in a continental camp of all places. There’s a conversation pending between them but that’s not the time or the place, she has to help him and unfortunately, that means Jamie has to know about his presence…and he has even more to tell John than Claire does.
A part of Jamie still wants to kill John with his own hands but another part knows he has to help him because he wouldn’t forgive himself for not doing it. While John can’t help but see the situation he finds himself in because of Jamie. Almost a fugitive, forced to give his word to the continental army, and with what was his home being presided over by a rebel flag. And he lets the resentment filter through his mouth every time he addresses Jamie.
What is clear in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’ is that both are holding back things they would rather not say or throw in each other’s face and that there is a palpable distance filled with unspoken words between them. Something has broken in that special friendship they had forged. In some way, they have lost each other and both are focusing on the anger they feel towards the other in order not to accuse that loss and avoid the sadness it causes them.
However, despite the complicated situation between Jamie and John, Jamie knows that he has to let him go because he only trusts him to save his son. A part of him may want nothing more than to finish John off with his own hands or, at least, beat him up again, but they both love William more than their own lives. William may carry Jamie’s blood but he is as much John’s son as his, so Jamie knows that no matter what, if anyone can trust William’s well-being, it is John. Jamie already confided in him once many years ago and never looked back…and now he’s doing the same thing again.
Speaking of William and his well-being, Percy Beauchamp shows up in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’ to shake things up. In the little we’ve gotten to know him, it’s clear to us that he’s a man full of secrets, even his identity being one. The show left us speechless by revealing that he’s John’s stepbrother, but it’s clear that they are, or were, much more than that…and whatever they had was important. But while Percy tries to get closer to John, he rejects him, so whatever happens between them, it broke John’s heart. And now we have a lot of questions about these two and Percy’s true identity.

Other Stuff in Outlander Season 7 Episode 14 ‘Ye Dinna Get Used to It’

- If looks could kill, John would be dead…but Jamie too and we love that!
- Those looks they exchanged were hot, right? No? Just us? Ok!
- Are we the only ones who want Jamie and John to talk about that thing again and tell each other everything they’re keeping inside?
- Roger and Brianna’s plot is the least interesting of this part of the season, it progresses in dribs and drabs and doesn’t tell us anything interesting.
- Hopefully, now that Brianna decided to find Roger through the stones things will get better.
- Harkness is better off dead. Jane is my heroine! We said what we said.
- Fanny is super cute.
- Richardson can go to hell! Nobody hurts our baby!
- Percy’s caress on John’s face…
- Ian and Rachel’ scenes are cute but we feel they are also repetitive. They follow the same pattern of seeing Ian depressed, remembering his past and Rachel comforting him by making it clear that she is by his side to share his burden, especially when he is about to go into battle.
- We love seeing Claire in fan mode taking advantage of the moment to clear up some doubts and enjoy firsthand how history is made in her own home.
- We never imagined seeing Lord John giving his oath to the Continental Army…
- Hal Grey showed up! He’s a pretty important character in the books, so we know what the show is doing here…
- Percy Beauchamp is an enigmatic character full of secrets, and we’re ready to dive into them!
