We loved 13 Going on 30! And while we weren’t sure a reboot was what we needed, we’re increasingly on board! News is coming out, and the new story Netflix is preparing is taking shape. Here’s everything we know about the reboot!
The Cast and Crew:
The movie stars Emily Bader and Logan Lerman as its leads. 13 Going on 30 reboot also features Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows, Dan Bucatinsky, and Taylor Zakhar Perez. And for the team behind the scenes, Brett Haley, from People We Meet on Vacation,AKA one of our favorite movies, will direct de reboot from a script by Hannah Marks with revisions by Flora Greeson.
Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum are producing for RK Films. And yes, Jennifer Garner herself will executive produce the movie alongside Donna Roth and Susan Arnold and Scott Hemming for Revolution Studios, Alyssa Altman for RK Films. Marks, Gina Matthews, and Ted Gidlow will be the screenwriters.

The Plot:
Plot details are being under wraps, so it’s we don’t know how much of the original movie will appear in the reboot. That said, as we commented, Brett Haley will be directing the project and in a interview with Deadline, Haley teased this would be a ‘reimagining’ of the movie.
In her words, “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films,’ Haley said. ‘Funny, emotional, deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer. I’m a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility.”

Release Date:
Unfortunately, there’s no release date set yet for the 13 Going on 30 reboot. However, production began in Los Angeles in June 2026, so we could expect a release in 2027, perhaps in the second half of the year. So we’ll be keeping an eye!
