Netflix announced during San Diego Comic Con that Season 2 of Iron Fist, the ‘other’ Defender – perhaps, our least favorite one, would premiere on September 7th. And yet sitting in the press room and hearing the actors and new show-runner talk about this new season, it’s hard to remember why we didn’t really love Danny all that much in the beginning.
Maybe it’s because he’s grown. The character we met in Iron Fist is a far cry from the man he was in The Defenders, and that man is a far cry from the one we met later, in Luke Cage Season 2. And if the actors, and showrunner is to be believed, they’ve listened to what the fans didn’t really love about the first season, and they’re trying to do better.
Also – Misty Knight is here, and that’s almost enough to make it all worthwhile. When are we getting Daughters of the Dragon again?
Yes, that question was asked.
But the season ahead promises not just a lot of Misty/Collen badassery, and a wonderful female villain, it also promises some …romance? Colleen and Danny have been one of the most stable couples in this universe, and yet we’ve had precious little time of them on screen as just that, a couple. Who cooks? Who cleans? What’s on their Netflix queue? Inquiring minds want to know. And it sure looks like we’re going to find out.
Check out what the actors had to say about it, and get excited as they preview a lot of good thing to come for our female characters, and even more growth for Danny.
