I don’t think Carlos’s problem is something he can just fix. His parents aren’t fully accepting of his sexuality and have made him feel uncomfortable being himself around them, and feel unsafe about introducing his boyfriend. It’s not up to Carlos to fix that, it’s his parents. TKs initial reaction of anger was disappointing, could he really not understand that as a gay Latino in Texas that Carlos’s experiences would be different to his? I’m glad he was more supportive by the end and told Carlos he’d wait until he was ready.

That’s a good point. I know it must be hard for Carlos because he loves his parents and wants them to accept him. I think part of TK’s anger was that he was caught off guard by Carlos not introducing him as his boyfriend. But, I know that Carlos was surprised to see his parents, and probably didn’t know what to do.

I’m glad they had that talk at the end, too. I just like them together, and I don’t want them to break up.
