We’re back with yet another Shadow and Bone playlist for you and we think you will really enjoy this one. This playlist is for our band of misfits The Crows; Kaz, Inej, and Jesper. We’ve already given you ones for Kaz and Jesper by themselves and don’t you worry, we have an Inej playlist coming as well.
The Crows are the definition of a found family. If you have read Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows series that is all about The Crows, then you know them well. Their loyalty to one another is unmatched, their skills are amazing, and when they work together they can get through any and everything.
Here’s our list of songs that remind us of The Crows.
“Motley Crew” by Post Malone
We came to play, it’s serious
Came with the gang, a myriad
Came with the gang, a myriad
Came with the motley crew.
“These are my friends” by lovelytheband
We are the weirdos
Inflated egos
The filthy misbehaved
The ones you dream of
The ones you can’t shake
We’re living in your brain
These are my friends
These are my friends
I love them
I love them
These are my friends
These are my friends
I love them
And they don’t care who you are
They don’t care what you do, no.
“Renegades” by X Ambassadors
Long live the pioneers
Rebels and mutineers
Go forth and have no fear
Come close and lend an ear
And I say
Hey, hey-hey-hey
Livin’ like we’re renegades
Hey-hey-hey
Hey-hey-hey
Livin’ like we’re renegades
Renegades
Renegades.
“Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots
All my friends are heathens, take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don’t make any sudden moves
You don’t know the half of the abuse
Welcome to the room of people
Who have rooms of people that they loved one day
Docked away
Just because we check the guns at the door
Doesn’t mean our brains will change from hand grenades.
“Believer” by Imagine Dragons
Pain!
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer
Pain!
You break me down and build me up, believer, believer
Pain!
Oh, let the bullets fly, oh, let them rain
My life, my love, my drive, it came from…
Pain!
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer.
“Lean on Me” by Major Lazer
Blow a kiss, fire a gun
We need someone to lean on
Blow a kiss, fire a gun
All we need is somebody to lean on
What will we do when we get old?
Will we walk down the same road?
Will you be there by my side?
Standing strong as the waves roll over.
“Natural” by Imagine Dragons
To make it in this world
Yeah, you’re a natural
Living your life cutthroat
You gotta be so cold
Yeah, you’re a natural
Deep inside me
I’m fading to black I’m fading
Took an oath by the blood on my hand won’t break it
I can taste it the end is upon us I swear
Gonna make it
I’m gonna make it.
“Come With Me Now” by Kongos
I was born without this fear
Now only this seems clear
I need to move, I need to fight
I need to lose myself tonight
Woah come with me now
I’m gonna take you down
Woah come with me now
I’m gonna show you how.
“The Difference” by Flume featuring Toro y Moi
Who cares about a game
When it’s all been replaced
Each level feels the same
It really goes either way
I don’t know about you
but I got to get it out
And I don’t know how soon
But if we die
I want to bring the whole thing
Ooh
Just another world
That I gotta get a grip of
And hold onto.
“Team” by Lorde
We live in cities you’ll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know, we’re on each other’s team.
“Lean on Me” by Bill Withers
Lean on me
When you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on…
For it won’t be long
Till I’m gonna need somebody to lean on.
“Empty Gold” by Halsey
We’re the underdogs, in this world alone
I’m a believer, got a fever running through my bones
We’re the alley cats and they can throw their souls
They can break our hearts, they won’t take our souls
If the morning light don’t steal our soul
We will walk away from empty gold
If the morning light don’t steal our soul
We will walk away from empty gold
We will walk away from empty gold.
Honorable Mention: “Bad Guy” by Billie EIlish
I had to add this song because Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej Ghafa), and Kit Young (Jesper Fahey) spent a lot of time dancing to it on the set of Shadow and Bone.
