We’re in unprecedented times and we’re all feeling different ways about it. For me, the pandemic has become overwhelming, isolating, and lonely. The littlest things make me cry and though I am searching for words to explain how I feel all of the time, sometimes I find it in music.
“Right now, in an unprecedented way, people are feeling isolated and stuck in their own lives,” Ben Platt said about the song, You Will Be Found.
You Will Be Found is a song that has long spoke to me. The music from Dear Evan Hansen is phenomenal all the way around, but this song gives hope and makes you feel seen even when you feel lost.
The cast of the upcoming movie, Dear Evan Hansen talks about the meaning of the song in the featurette below.
“That idea of being found, of being seen is really elemental to what it is to be a human being,” Julianne Moore said.
It’s true, everyone needs to be found – to be seen. People are feeling alone on a level that hasn’t been seen in our lifetime. Mental health, the pandemic… it’s all a lot for the world we live in.
But what i’ll take away from this featurette is Amandla Stenberg‘s comment, “Often times the moment that we’re in feels like the only moment that will ever exist. That’s not the case.”
You are not alone.
Dear Evan Hansen will open in theaters on September 24.
