Like we’ve said before, we always love anything and everything that is a variation or stems from “the most famous love story ever told.” Love story and comes from the genius mind that is Rebecca Serle? Yes please.
Rosaline is based on the book When You Were Mine and it is one of my favorite books ever. During Disney+ day, it was announced that the movie will premiere in 2022 on Hulu.
The book has been adapted to film with Kaitlyn Dever set to star as Rosaline, Kyle Allen set to star as Romeo, Sean Teale as Dario, and Isabella Merced as Rosaline (among many other talented actors). When You Were Mine (the adaptation is entitled Rosaline), it’s the story of Romeo and Juliet told from Rosaline’s point of view. Only Rosaline is Romeo’s ex, and what starts out with her wanting to win back her ex, becomes about Rosaline’s growth and self discovery and changes to her wanting to get the star-crossed lovers back together.
“Here’s the first look photo for #rosaline ❤️ Directed by @karen__maine !!! Coming to @hulu 2022. I am SO excited for this one:)” she captioned the picture.
Rosaline was originally at MGM, but when it hit the market 20th Century scooped it up. Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber penned the script for the adaptation.
We can’t wait for 2022. Are you excited for Rosaline?
