Finding someone that shares the same thoughts and feelings about things as you is a different thing. It feels as though there is this piece of you that gets understood and becomes alive. And sometimes you just know when a person is meant to be in your life, but sometimes it takes something in life to really make you see it.
And I believe on How I Met Your Father, Sophie and Jesse are just that for each other.
When it comes to Sophie and Jesse, we’ve all seen that the two find comfort in each other. They find a peace in each other. They are a lot a like and they see the world the same way. But I am not sure if that is the best thing or the worst. Sometimes I think that it is best to have someone that isn’t like you, because it challenges you to be better.
And I feel like sometimes we all need challenged.
It’s the day after the kiss and Sophie is riding a high. Her tooth is fixed, she’s happy. And Valentina knows that something is up. Sophie says she handed in her picture, but it’s more than that.

And the thing is that’s what a good best friend does – they can see the things that we try to hide. She guesses that Sophie kissed Jesse. And Jesse is telling Sid what happened also. Valentina and Sid are both for Jesse and Sophie being together. They’ve always known that there is something there. But the thing is – what about Drew?
Sophie knows that she needs to talk to Drew, which is the perfect excuse to miss out on Charlies “friends soccer day.” Jesse wants to make sure that no one knows what is going on until Sophie and him have their date. And nothing can bring him down – that is until Sid tells him that Meredith came by and is dropping a new single.
And of course that single is all sorts of confusing. Does that she regret breaking up with Jesse?

MEREDITH
Jay Street is her new single and it definitely is about missing Jesse. It’s not a good thing that he listened or knows that it exists, because Jesse spirals. He spirals in his own head.
And this is not good timing, because he’s just allowed himself to open himself up to Sophie and he should be celebrating that. However, instead he’s landing on Meredith’s doorstep asking her what the fuck was she thinking? I mean, it’s something we all want to know.
Meredith knows she owes Jesse answers, but she’s avoiding it as much as she can, and distracting him with fries and hot sauce. Jesse really can not stay focused.
Meredith tells Jesse all the reasons that she said no, the way that she felt like she didn’t have a voice and was searching for one. And now she’s found hers and she wants Jesse back in her life.

Jesse has always loved deeply and whole heartedly. That’s part of his charm. That’s the thing – his innocence is part of his beauty. But it can easily be manipulated and I am afraid that what he’s going to do is believe that Meredith cares, and he’s going to agree to go on tour with her.
She wants something. And wanting something in an apology isn’t love. And it isn’t an apology.
DREW
Sophie and Drew have a lot to work out, but it doesn’t help that when she heads over to Drew’s, his parents are there. She’s there to break up and his family is thinking that this is a great relationship. Drew apologizes to her that he went off. He says that it is because he was upset that she was late to his event.

Still not an excuse to the be a dick Drew.
Drew’s Mom is very overbearing and while alone with Sophie, she wants to take a picture and post it online, with the caption “2 peas in a pod.”
Sophie and Drew have only been dating for two months, and that really is a short period of time. I know that others may not see it that way, but personally I think at that point you still have a lot to learn.
Moms are a trip. Drew’s Mom is nothing like him – I am shocked. She keeps pressuring the situation between Sophie and Drew, telling Sophie that she should come to Aruba. When Sophie blurts out that she’s breaking up with Drew, his Mom says that’s not possible. Why? Because they’ve got something bad to tell Drew themselves and she will Rock, Paper, Scissors for it.
That’s shit I did not see coming. His Mom and Sophie fighting over which one gets to tell their bad news first. But his Mom is slick and lets is slip that his Dad is basically like Bernie Madoff and may be going to jail, but she’s thankful that Drew has Sophie so he doesn’t have to go through this alone.

But Sophie is wanting to follow her heart and she is going to do that anyways. She’s ready to go out and face the music, but Valentina calls her and tells her about Jesse being with Meredith. Now, personally, I think that Valentina is doing the right thing, because Sophie deserves to know.
No matter what has been going on, what happens, the good thing about Sophie is that she doesn’t want to screw around with anyones feelings. She tells Drew that they need to break up. That he deserves someone who is 100% in and that’s not her.
One has to respect that she feels that way and is honest about it. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone with lies. Truth is always the better way to go.

FRIENDS SOCCER DAY
Charlie is letting his inner superfan fly, which hey, is cute, though I am still really not sure if I like Charlie. He’s just overwhelming and a lot. I don’t know, it just feels like his character drains me, more than makes me happy.
And well, I wouldn’t miss him he was gone.
He wants to share his passion with his friends. And they are all showing up but Sid and Hannah are focused on planning their wedding, Ellen’s trying to plan her outfit for an interview and then everyone gets distracted when Sid and Valentina let it slip that Sophie and Jesse kissed.
Of course that is all anyone can talk about. Valentina and Sid taking their best friends side and believing that their respective best friends were the ones to go for it first. But as usual, Charlie says something that changes the conversation and makes people look at it in a different way. Sophie cheated on Drew, to which Sid says this is the good kind of cheating.
Ummm, there is a good kind? Hannah is pissed and everyone knows what he said was wrong. What does he mean? The good kind of cheating is apparently the kind that leads to you finding your person or Beyonce to Lemonade. Still not getting it, but you do you Sid.
This is definitely not giving your fiance faith in you.
Everyone is so wrapped up in their life that they are ignoring Charlie’s day and he’s upset. He’s homesick and rather than tell them all, he’s expected them to take part in something he wanted to share. He doesn’t feel like he has a connection to home and this soccer is all that he has.

Valentina wants to make things right and turns Charlie’s apartment into everything stereotypical British. She wants to make up, but something in Charlie’s eyes tells me that he may be ready to say goodbye to New York.
DINNER FOR TWO
Sophies picture – the one for the gallery? Well, that’s a picture of Jesse and it’s perfect. It’s beautiful. And it feels like it captures Jesse in the best light. You can see that she loves Jesse.
Yes, you can see that in picture. And hey, I for one am proud of Sophie that she made it into the new voices showcase and that she’s happy.
What I am not happy about is that when she gets to the restaurant to meet Jesse, he’s not there.
No call, not text.
And I have to admit I am concerned.
