Parental relationships are complicated. As kids, we never think our parents are doing enough or we think that they are doing too much. Or well sometimes we just hate them and that shit can be very justified.
When it comes to Ginny & Georgia, I can’t decide what they are, besides, well, confused. The two of them are so similar that it’s scary. I guess to a point we all become our parents, even though we’d all fight that perception with everything that we are.
Ginny and Georgia are at a standoff. Georgia wants Ginny to forgive her and the confidant she’s always had. Ginny want to believe in her Mom and doesn’t know how.
But here we are, again, with the two of them doing everything that they can to spite each other, but not realizing that they need each other. Yet, as they do everything that they can to ignore each other they are turning to the men in their lives.
Ginny wakes up with Marcus next to her, covering her morning breath, and saying she needs to brush her teeth first. However, Marcus doesn’t care. He’s always flirting with her and do I believe that he cares about her? Yes. I do. But I also think that Marcus needs to fix his own shit first, because he’s definitely got a lot of shit.
I believe that Marcus and Ginny care about each other, but I also believe that both of them aren’t capable of really caring right now. They are looking for an escape from their lives. I think that we can all respect that. We’ve all been there. It’s not healthy, but it’s also not a foreign concept to us.
Ginny doesn’t want to return to school, but has no choice. She knows that everyone is mad at her and then there is all the speculation on why she disappeared. She tells friends she was at her Dads, teachers that she had the flu. Teachers ask for a note, but she had refused that from Georgia in the morning.

See, Georgia has tried to talk to Ginny, but she wasn’t hearing it. And when she wasn’t responding, she blurted out that she had invited Paul to move in. She was supposed to wait for Paul to have a conversation with Ginny and Austin together, but Georgia is always doing things Georgias way.
I don’t believe that Ginny has an issue with Paul. I don’t believe that Austin has an issue with Paul. I think that what it is, they want a Mom who is just going to be there, who isn’t going to lie and put her shit on them all the time. When she does that, she’s pushed them away.
Ginny isn’t met with the warmest reception at school from Max and all her friends. Hell, Marcus is even lackluster. She does has her friends and I am thankful that she does. Especially when her friend gets the part in the play that Max wanted.
This episode – for Ginny – seemed about finding a place. A place at school, a place at therapy, and a way to not hurt herself.
And that does lead her to Marcus. Not saying that is the smartest idea – cause it’s not. But if we’re being honest, I would probably fall into Marcus too. Dude is hot and sometimes the unhealthy things in life are just what the doctor ordered. (Fully aware I am changing my tune, but I am thinking about it and don’t want to be dishonest). The only issue is that at Ginny and Marcus’s age, using sex as a way to get through – it isn’t a good idea at all.
When Ginny is told the things that she can’t do or that shouldn’t work out for her – she rises to the occasion. She gets her job back at Joe’s and she sticks it to Georgia.
Speaking of Georgia, she’s wanting to be a part of the neighborhood club, but it becomes complicated when she needs a sponsor and the only person that could possibly do that is Cynthia. Yet, Georgia has been miserable to her, so is it truly any shock that Cynthia makes it known that under any circumstances.
No one can really blame Cynthia for this. Georgia has been a nightmare to her. She’s been the worst of the worst. Hell, Cynthia knows a lot on Georgia, but she also knows that she doesn’t have the proof. She also doesn’t like being jerked around by Georgia.
It goes to show you that you need to watch the bridges that you burn. You could truly regret it one day.
Georgia is also dealing with work, where Nick is not thrilled she’s still there. He knows all the shit she’s done and when he tries to call Georgia on it, she’s like tell Paul. If I go down, we all go down. And yes, she could rip apart Nick’s life too by telling him who his boyfriend is truly, but we have to give her credit she knows no matter what she does, she’s in trouble. She’s defeated. Everyone else has won and her and Nick are in between a rock and a hard place.

Yet, Georgia’s lies are going to catch up with her. Why? Because Paul. Paul tries to have a talk with Ginny, letting her know that he’s not trying to be her Dad, but he’s basically there for whatever she needs. He talks about Austin’s Dad and how he got those fake credit cards in Austins name.
And that’s when she discovers how to find her credit score and realizes that her Mom has done the same thing to her. She’s taken her identity.
When push comes to shove, Ginny knows that she doesn’t have a choice but to play Georgia’s game. Only thing is, she’s gonna play it in the worst way possible – letting her Mom know that she could kill Paul too with a shake.
Checkmate Georgia. Check mate.
