In an effort to build a space for queer people like myself, every Sunday (or when I’m feeling spicy) I’ll be posting interviews, opinion pieces, listicles, reviews, and more focused on the LGBT community from a Latina perspective. Welcome to Queerly Not Straight! Enjoy and leave a comment below if you have a suggestion for what I should cover next.
P.S. I, Lyra Hale, do not give any site permission to copy or repost my work in any form. If you are reading this on any site besides Fangirlish, it has been stolen.
Webtoons are another avenue for you to find LGBTQ content to consume. From romance to sci-fi and slice of life, there’s a little bit of something for everyone from some of the most creative minds out there.
And since I loved doing our first, second, third, and fourth list of LGBTQ+ webtoons you should check out, I wanted to make another list to supply you with even more content! So check out our list of 7 more LGBTQ+ webtoons you should be reading in 2023!
And when you’re done, make sure to tell your friends and show the authors some love. Enjoy!
1. Covenant by explodikid (Action)
Synopsis: Ezra, a powerful exorcist with no faith in God, is tasked to protect a seemingly normal human from rising demonic forces. With his church under scrutiny and the threat of war on the horizon, will Ezra find his conviction in time? Or will Sunny suffer the consequences?
Why You Should Read: What do you mean one of them has glowing tattoo sleeves?! *fans self* Do you need to know more? In case you do, there is a nun I would let step on me, plenty of action, and boys being a hot damn mess as they try to figure out what’s going on while being wrapped up queer story that is giving major Warrior Nun vibes. Bonus: Covenant is being published according to the author!

2. Susuhara Is A Demon! by Soya S. Holm (Slice of Life/Romance)
Synopsis: After a perfect girl encounters an infamous delinquent, her life is thrusted into a whirlwind of chaos! Strap in for a ride jam-packed with terribly embarrassing flirting techniques, kick-ass delinquents and existential dread by the buttload! Nothing could possibly go wrong in this perfectly imperfect love story.
Why You Should Read: It’s giving me opposites attract. It’s giving me little miss perfect who will fight someone for her boo. It’s giving me that delinquent being mean to everyone and being totally smitten for the perfect girl. And it’s giving me badass girl who can handle her own but still faints into the love interests arms. Swoon.

3. Daybreak by Moosopp (Slice of Life)
Synopsis: Marcus has a crush, and Cog is completely unprepared for the hijinks that follow. Hopefully in their efforts to grow closer, they can brighten each other’s day.
Why You Should Read: First of all, I love the pallet. It’s cute, adorable, and the slice of life love story I’ve been looking. Then there’s the fact that this is a queer love story between two Black characters. Because as much as we’ve progressed when telling LGBTQ+ stories, there are still not enough stories that show Black joy, love, and living with absolutely no drama sprinkled on top.

4. It’s Okay to Like Girls by Jehded Waffles (Romance/Drama)
Synopsis: Sophie starts a new high school with doubts of getting much out of it, but when she meets another student, Olivia, her expectations change completely. As the two of them grow closer and closer, Sophie realizes that Olivia might not just be a good friend. . .
Why You Should Read: This one explores familiar territory for queer readers with its “blossoming friendship that turns into more but wait do I like girls?!” but is essential nonetheless. Plus I really like the art style, the diverse family, and the fact that one of the girls is a little thicker like me.

5. Erik & Nick in Love by Daryl’s Doodles (Slice of Life/Comedy)
Synopsis: A couple of boys growing up, navigating life, love, and all the goofy nonsense that comes with being in a relationship together.
Why You Should Read: These are short and sweet bits about the love life of Nicholas and Erik. There are hijinks, date nights, and an art style that looks like the artist drew it right on paper. Come for the blushing, stay for holiday celebrations and a real dose of Latinidad (which you don’t see as often in webtoons and that I’d love to see more of as a Latina.)

6. Fatal Kiss by riadevim (Romance/Supernatural)
Synopsis: What would you do if your crush was a monster? When Raegan gets accepted into her dream high school far from her home, she is thrown into a supernatural world where she must make an impossible choice between survival and benevolence.
Why You Should Read: This is the first time a Webtoon has made it on our LGBTQ+ webtoons list and it’s thanks to the gay panic with a healthy dose of supernatural goodness. Follow along as these women figure out things, survive supernatural stuff, and find love. Also, there’s the height difference between the leads if that’s your weakness. It’s the reason why I did a re-read.

7. My Brother’s (Not So) Secret Boyfriend by metaromantic (Comedy/Supernatural)
Synopsis: When Karin Kobayashi discovers her brother has a secret boyfriend, she does what any good sibling would do—respect their decision to keep it private and pretend she hasn’t noticed. Now if only they weren’t so bad at hiding their so-called “secret” relationship…….
Why You Should Read: Karin is an absolute mood and sees what two stupid boys can’t see: they really like each other. After giving her approval of their “romance,” said stupid boys dance around each other while blushing and giving each other puppy dog eyes. Truly a pair of loveable idiots.
