What’s the old adage, don’t sh** where you eat? Emma has obviously not heard that saying, because the girl is doing just that. She is having an affair with her boss and well, I can’t blame her. Even though he’s got a beard that I would required shaved off and he’s married, I can’t blame her.
It’s the accent.
But having sex on the floor in his office – that’s a whole other level that I don’t think that I would be able to do. The pain, the bruises, the embarrassment if someone walked on. It feels like a lot.
But for Emma, she seems to be on one. Phil, her boss, is married and doesn’t seem to have regard for that when he f**ks Emma on the floor of his office. He doesn’t seem to care when his wife calls him and he takes the call, with her sitting there. He’s an idiot and that’s a statement that I will stand by.
But he wants control. He wants control of Emma, giving her cell phone. She may have said that she’d never get one which hey, she didn’t. It was given to her, so personally, I feel like she stuck to her word.
But when Emma gets home, she’s faced with having to deal with Ian. The two have broken up, and he’s moved out. I am actually really happy about that because I don’t like him. Ian’s an insecure troll. He’s always been someone that I feel like Emma settled for versus actually realizing her worth.
The thing about Emma, in my opinion, is she’s never realized who she is. She’s tried and she’s done everything that she can to be there for everyone else and to pull them through everything, but she’s rarely done that for herself. She’s let everyone make her decisions for her or tell her what she needs to do, but the reality is she wants more.
And I do think that Emma wants to feel loved and when she’s not feeling that connection, she becomes disconnected and angry, and she searches for it even more.
So seeing Emma stand up for herself, and her putting herself first and her finding strength and independence, as well as inspiration is something that definitely inspires me. She and Ian get into an intense fight, one that ends with some understanding.
But it ends with Emma calling Tilly and then doing something that she hasn’t done in awhile – writing.
Loved seeing Emma finding her strength and her inspiration. Seeing her find the will to write. That’s a big deal.
And quite inspiring. Emma’s finding herself and I mean don’t we all wish we could do just that?
