When it comes to movie marketing – well any marketing – the job of the assets that are put out by the studio, is to make you want to see the movie. The trailer for Fly Me To The Moon had done just that, made us stop and say we’re definitely going to watch that.
It looks really good, right. Now, Sony has doubled down on making us want to see the film, by releasing photos. We were hoping that they would double down by giving us another trailer.
One can dream.
Yet we have 6 or so weeks until the film, so we are sure that it will come.
Starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, Fly Me to the Moon is a sharp, stylish comedy-drama set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson), brought in to fix NASA’s public image, wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis’ (Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, Jones is directed to stage a fake moon landing as backup, and the countdown truly begins.

Directed by Greg Berlanti, in addition to Johansson and Tatum, the movie stars Nick Dillenburg, Anna Garcia, Jim Rash, Noah Robbins, Colin Woodell, Christian Zuber, Donald Elise Watkins, Ray Romano and Woody Harrelson.
Fly Me to the Moon will hit theaters on July 12th. Will you be watching?
