Life is weird. It throws things at you and you’re left trying to navigate it all. Emily is definitely trying to navigate her life in Paris and with Marcello. BUT, that being said, when their whole life is about work, one is wondering how long that can last. It sure doesn’t feel like forever. Yet, that is the great thing about Emily In Paris. It will keep you on your toes.
Emily back with Marcello has been what I wanted, but also I am afraid she’s moving too fast. Emily has put herself all in on Nico and Marcello’s business and even gotten Sylvie involved. There is a lot that has transgressed this season and I am impressed with how the show feels brand new.

And I feel like that is part of what makes it special
Marcello and Nico are looking for a designer for Marcello’s brand. He wants it to be be like a luxury sports brand, and they are trying to recruit Noah Moreau to design. When they can’t get to him, Emily rubs a hamburger all over her hand to get Moreau’s dogs attention. The way to a man is through his stomach or his BFF.
Nico and Marcello are radioactive in the press right now, because they left their families companies. I think thats stupid, but it is also life. What people say matters, even when it shouldn’t. The two know how the press will react to anything they do. It’s kind of crazy that these two didn’t seem to realize the magnitude of their leaving.

They are lucky though, because of Emily making friends with the dog, she was able to get Nico and Marcello a designer. Emily is bending over backwards to help the two out, but I wonder – is she over compensating? Does she feel like she has to make up for what happened in Rome? Or is she trying to hold onto him? I have to admit, I really just confused how Marcello and her are moving so fast.
However, she’s not the only one that is moving fast. Mindy and Nico are moving quite fast also. I believe that because they’ve all had intense relationships, they pick up where they left off. I just don’t think that you can do that if you don’t talk through the problems.

Emily isn’t the only one hanging on and breaking the boundaries that she set for himself. Sylvie has a lot going on this episode, but also that isn’t such a bad thing. They way that she has allowed herself to let her walls down and enjoy her time with her 5-7. She’s let her ex-bestie back into her life. She’s even gone as far as to send naked photos to the man.
Then only to find out that man is her friends son. Talk about an uncomfortable situation – especially cause her friend stole the phone and saw the d**k pic on her phone that the man had sent. That would be really traumatizing finding out that what you just stared at was a picture of your grown sons member. Hard pass (pun intended).
It seems that this episode of Emily In Paris was intended to reset narrative around the characters of the show. Then part of me thinks that it was the start of the reset of some.
Marcello and Nico are set to announce their brand at a luncheon filled with press. Sylvie and Emily are thinking it is going great. Noah Moreau is waiting to be announced. Marcello heads to the mic when a woman starts walking through the room with an envelope. As Marcello is speaking she serves him.

He never should have opened that envelope near a microphone, because he let out that his Mom was suing him for trademark infringement.
I can’t even imagine the hurt that Marcello feels. Everyone has a reason to be upset over what Antonia did. It has to feel like the worlds biggest betrayal. Do I understand that she is probably hurt by her son? Of course. Yet, somethings should be handled internally. They don’t have to be the way that this family has made them. Nico and Marcello have both taken big risks to make a name for themselves and because they’ve done that they are getting looked down on. That whole thing makes no sense to me. Why? Because everyone always remarks about how people should earn their own way.

Parents just want to have something to complain about. But that’s an entirely different story.
The whole situation with Marcello’s Mom has made no one want to work with them. This is stressing Marcello out and Emily doesn’t want to see that for him. She suggests hiring whomever did the mockup designs. It turns out that it was Marcello who did them.
My favorite moment in this episode was Emily convincing Marcello to design himself. He would be in control of his brand and he’s good at designing. Marcello just needs someone to believe in him and she does. And that’s freeing for him. Have to love that for them both.
Emily In Paris is streaming now on Netflix.
