Get ready to sink your teeth into this new supernatural comedy, coming to CBS! Eternally Yours is bound to compel plenty of viewers as it comes from Ghosts’ creators and showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. It’s also been in the works for quite some time. Deadline exclusively reported that the network ordered a development room for the single-camera comedy series in August 2024.
Nearly a year later, Eternally Yours received its pilot order at CBS. By December 25, the show’s cast started to be announced, with it rounding out in March 2026. In April, CBS announced it picked up Eternally Yours as part of its comedy slate alongside the returning Ghosts and George & Mandy’s First Marriage.
In July, we’re on the edge of even more information about the upcoming comedy. Eternally Yours is set to have a screening and a moderated panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con ahead of its series premiere later this year. What Is Eternally Yours About?
Eternally Yours looks like it has the vibe of a romantic comedy with a supernatural twist. That sounds like a perfect combination for us! It’s described as “a family comedy” with Charles and Liz being the main couple. As vampires, they have been together for a while — 500 years, to be exact. However, their “once-passionate romance has devolved into a pulseless marriage.”
The description continues: “Living in present-day Seattle with their oddball coven, they’ve settled into an eternal rut – until their daughter’s earnest human boyfriend unexpectedly enters their lives and forces them to confront whether their love can survive forever…or if forever is a life sentence.”
The show’s executive producers include Port and Wiseman, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang. The pilot was executive produced and directed by Trent O’Donnell. Who Is Starring in the Show?
Eternally Yours stars Ed Weeks as Charles, Allegra Edwards as Liz, Jaren Lewison as Max, Helen J Shen as Emma, Parker Young as Jesse, Rose Abdoo as Phyllis, Tristan Michael Brown as Mort, and Shylo Molina as Henry. Weeks was the first to join the cast, with his character being nobility in the Middle Ages but a pencil pusher in the present day. Per Charles’s character description, he “disdains modernity and the weak-minded humans who inhabit it, which makes it all the worse when he learns his vampire daughter is now dating one.”
Never Have I Ever’s Lewison stars as that human boyfriend. Helen J Shen will portray Charles and Liz’s daughter, Emma, who is described as “cynical and sardonic,” as well as “a bright and caring veterinarian.” She lives at home with her parents and has been “a longtime witness to their difficult marriage.” Understandably, that has made her into “a commitment-phobe who is always waiting for the other shoe to drop in relationships.”
Meanwhile, Allegra Edwards’s Liz is “intelligent and worldly.” She is many things, including “a wife, mother, history professor…and vampire since 1526 AD.” I imagine the latter helps – or maybe complicates – the history professor of it all. “Unlike her stuck-in-his-ways husband, Liz wants to grow and change with the times, and she’ll do whatever it takes to drag Charles into the 21st century,” per her character description.
When Does It Premiere?
Eternally Yours has had a spot on CBS’s schedule since April. The half-hour comedy will air on Thursdays at 8:30c, following new episodes of George & Mandy’s First Marriage. For those who think it may fit better with Ghosts, its new season is being held for midseason programming. As for Eternally Yours, it was announced at SDCC that the supernatural comedy will debut on Thursday, October 8. With that being practically around the corner at this point, I’d imagine we’re about to learn a lot more about this show.
