We’re definitely already talking Christmas because you know that Christmas is our favorite season of the year. Give us the cold weather, the hot drinks, and all of the movies.
Now you know that we love all of the networks movies, and we have to say that we love all of the actors that are leading these films. But one person that we never thought that we’d see in a holiday film – Britt Robertson. Then again, we also have an issue with Chad Michael Murray as a human being, but we’re not supposed to bring in the personal opinion (and yet, we will).
The Merry Gentlemen will star the two from a script written by Marla Sokoloff (Sweet On You) and directed by Peter Sullivan (Secret Obsession). What we know about the film is that it’s a “story of a musical revue to save Christmas.” Please don’t make us watch Murray strip.
The official logline, “To save her parents’ small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.”
So many questions and judgements. Then again so many mixed feelings because this writer loves a Christmas movie.
Robertson told Tudum about her role, “My character Ashley has been a successful Broadway dancer for her entire adult career, she returns to her hometown and is faced with figuring out what she wants for her future, while also reinventing her parents’ local business.”
Murray said that his character of Luke is, “kind, confident and slightly sarcastic. He works as a contractor helping out the family who owns a bar named the Rhythm Room. He’s thrust into an unfamiliar situation and is pushed to the limits of comfortability.”
The cast of the movie includes, Britt Robertson (The Rookie: Feds, Girlboss), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill, Mother of the Bride), Marla Sokoloff (Sweet On You, Fuller House), Beth Broderick (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Psycho Beach Party), Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors), Maxwell Caulfield (Empire Records, Grease 2), Hector David Jr (Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Power Rangers Samurai), Colt Prattes (Dirty Dancing, This Is Us), and Marc Anthony Samuel (General Hospital, A Classic Spy).
We’re definitely going to watch. Not even going to lie about that. But, we’re hesitant to be excited about the movie. We’d like to know your thoughts.
