For Shawn Ryan, co-showrunner and EP of Timeless, aka the show that has absolutely all of us waiting for Sunday nights, making this show is clearly both a labor of love and well…a lot of work. That’s on par for the course for time-travel shows, really, you can’t just wing it as you could with something set in the present – you have to do actual research.
Shawn, who we had the pleasure of talking to at Wondercon last weekend, was very candid about how hard the whole writing team and crew works at making each time period come to life, but he was also very clear on how much they all enjoy doing it, and how much they appreciate the fans that basically pushed for this show to have a Season 2 and have already started pushing for a Season 3.
And yes, he did have some good things to say about the Lyatt issue, people. (We did say we were gonna ask.) Basically, it all boils down to: trust the journey. They know how much the relationship means to you (and to us). Journeys aren’t easy, but they’re worth it. We’re ready to go on this one with Wyatt and Lucy.
Check out the video of our interview below and hit us with your comments! How do you feel about what he had to say? And didn’t you love our other question about how the season would end? *Wink wink*
Timeless airs Sundays at 10/9c on NBC.
