We’re heading to Greendale for Christmas in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale. Premiering December 14th on Netflix, the streaming finally gave us more than a glimpse and some pictures of what’s to come in the form of a trailer. And oh does it look good and scary AF!
Sabrina takes part in a seance during a winter solstice celebration where the veil between our world and the next is hella thin. What follows is a tale of ghosts, evil Santas, and Sabrina’s mortal friends being put smack dab in the middle of all this danger. You know, normal Christmas stuff.
Look a little closer and you’ll also catch other moments that promise to be terrifying. We’ve got mannequins that seem to have a life of their own, a person covered in wax and looking looking like a candle stand, and a ghost haunting the Spellmans and throwing knives at Hilda. #ProtectingHilda
Read the synopsis for A Midwinter’s Tale:
The Church of Night, like all covens, celebrates the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — when families gather together around the Yule Fire to sing pagan carols, tell ghost stories and huddle against the supernatural creatures that come out to cause mischief. Since the Winter Solstice is when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest, it’s the perfect time to conduct a séance — which Sabrina convenes, to try and contact her mother. But the holidays are also a time for guests and visitors — both welcome and unwelcome — and you never know what might come down the chimney.
