Lili Reinhart has written a book of poetry entitled, “Swimming Lessons!“, and we really can’t wait to read it.
The Riverdale actress released an excerpt on her Instagram.
It reads, “My heart feels heavy today / but not because of sorrow. It feels full / or swollen. It’s like I’ve discovered a new / compartment inside myself / with all this room left to fill. And I’m filling it, easily, with you.”
“I feel you / latching onto a piece / of myself that will only / continue to grow, as I grow. You are engraved in me, settling comfortably into / my empty spaces.”
She had announced the book back in October 2019 on her Instagram saying, “One year ago, I decided I wanted to share my poetry with the world. It’s scary to reveal a part of myself that I don’t often show, but I like to consider this book as more of a story rather than a confession of thought. Strangers, songs, films, fictional characters, love in various forms, and of course my own experiences were my inspiration throughout the creation of Swimming Lessons. This book means a lot to me and I’m very grateful to be in the position to finally share it.”
Swimming Lessons! will be available, May 5th.
