We reached the end! Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike” is the episode of the answers…that leaves you many more questions. At last, Alex and Gregorovich come face-to-face with a surprising result, and Damien’s plan comes to a head. Time for a review!
Here we go!
In Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike” we finally see the face-to-face between Gregorovich and Alex. Gregorovich confesses to Alex that he killed his uncle and the reason for doing it but it’s clear that he is not telling the whole story. However, he saves Alex when Damien orders him to kill him…and Gregorovich even kills Damien to prevent him from killing Alex. Why? Why this extreme protection?
Alex went to meet Gregorovich, bare-chested, urging him to finish what he started by killing his uncle but…Gregorovich would never hurt him. And we don’t believe for a second that the reason is that Alex’s father was his friend. His uncle was too, and Gregorovich didn’t hesitate to kill him. Gregorovich isn’t someone to stop because of friendship. We continue to think that he is Alex’s father…and that’s why he gave him the clue to find out his past.
Scorpia.
And we discover that Scorpia is nothing more and nothing less than…KYRA!
WHAT?!

How is it possible? What does she have to do with Alex’s past? She’s also an agent, was she an undercover agent at Point Blanc? This discovery made our heads explode and now we cannot stop thinking of a thousand theories.
On the other hand, as we try to close our mouths after this unexpected twist, our eyes fill with tears with Jack in Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike.” Finally, thanks to Mrs. Jones, she is officially Alex’s tutor. His family. She already was, but now is official, and that’s even more significant, even more emotional. Besides, she’s now a citizen too. No more threats to force Alex to collaborate.
All that garbage is over. Jack deserves no less. Alex deserves no less. And from now on, if Alex collaborates with MI6 it will be his choice. That said, Alex is determined to go after his past, just as Gregorovich instructed him. He’s determined to find Scorpia AKA Kyra to get answers…and Jack, along with Tom, is willing to help him.
She cannot ask Alex not to seek answers, the only thing she can do is support him and be by his side every step of the way, accepting that Alex is beginning to carve out his future and for that, he needs answers from his past, although that means putting himself in danger.
Proud mama here!

But it’s not the only thing we’re proud of, Mrs. Jones is a queen! In Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike” she must face the consequences of supporting Alex and trusting him. Blunt is quick to reproach her for acting behind his back, but Mrs. Jones doesn’t flinch and makes things clear: he should have trusted his agent, or at least, in her.
Because Blunt not only mistrusts Alex for no real reason but also his partner, his right hand, Mrs. Jones. If she tells him Alex is right, the least Blunt should have done is give her the benefit of the doubt.
I love the way she confronts him not only here, but later, when she reproaches him for the miserable attitude he had with Alex, the way he failed him. Blunt has no excuse and, to top it all off, he’s cynical enough to take credit when he didn’t trust Alex for a second and treated him like an enemy.
And, of course, you have to be brave to fight injustices, but you have to be even more courageous to accept your own mistakes. Mrs. Jones makes self-criticism in Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike.” She knows that she failed Alex because she allowed Blunt to not trust him and treat him as an enemy. Even though she disagreed, she didn’t stop Blunt from doing what he did. And if I already admired her, after this scene, I admire her much more.

In another vein, Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike” was the end of Sabina and Alex’s story. She realizes that he only wanted to help her and she participates in the mission against Damien but…she needs peace of mind to be able to think. Her life became too tangled and Alex would only entangle it further. Alex’s life is too complicated and Sabina can’t face it right now, it’s just the opposite that she needs…even if she likes Alex a lot.
As for Damien, in Alex Rider 2×08 “Strike” comes his final. He was a villain to match and his plan was even more machiavellian than we thought. We liked his role and the frantic way in which they ended him, for the first time we felt that things might not go well for Alex.
