Oh hell no I won’t watch NA without Freema!! The character assassination is unbelievable. They knew she was leaving they could have done her justice focus on her sl because she deserves that much. They knew it was her last season and they have her less than 2 minutes of airtime! A shaaaame

  2. Valentina says:

    Cuanta lucidez! Absolutamente de acuerdo!

  3. Tammy says:

Ah y absolutamente no seguiré viendo la quinta temporada, Im fuckin done!

  4. Lorolie says:

I totally agree with this article. After the Season 4 finale I declared that was my finale. They totally assassinated Freema and I decided I was not going to watch the last season. The first 3 season were amazing and I will leave that there. No need to waste time watching trash at this point. Good lock to Freema. I hope she gets roles that continue to display her amazing talent.

  5. Mugsy says:

Not expecting to be that bored. If this was intended to be a promo for the last season , that was as bad of an idea as the split of time between UK & US. We have no winner in any category.

  6. Lynette says:

Wholely concur with your assessment of New Amsterdam is at. At this moment, I can’t imagine watching the show in real time, but will see what people write a Max and Luna.

  7. Sonja Marie Jackson-Martin says:

This is such a letdown. We went through all of that denial, will they, won’t they to get to Sharpwin and at the end we get a split. Now another season of Max dealing with loss….uuuggghhh. Its unfortunate . She was the very reason I came to the show and stayed for Sharpwin. I will probably DVR S5, but watching will feel like my balloon is deflating every week. I will watch, just not with the sane intensity.

  8. Jayne says:

    Yes, watching it

  9. Shana says:

Yeah, Lorolie. I will definitely be following Freema’s next roles. I fully believe, even with what we’ve experienced so far, that we’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of her talent. Can’t wait to see more.

  10. Shana says:

Yes, Sonja Marie. I will probably still wind up catching episodes when I an. It just likely won’t be a priority and won’t feel the same.

  11. Jennifer Price says:

I’ll be watching Season 5. Yes, Dr Helen Sharp was a good character, but there are a lot of other good characters that can be focused on. I’d love to see more storyline for Dr Reynolds and also the ER Doctor….what’s her name? I’m having a brain fart. I’m going to be sad when New Amsterdam ends….I absolutely love this show. Good thing for Hulu and Peacock I can rewatch it as long as the show is on one of them.

    1. Shana says:

I’d be more excited about Dr. Reynolds if they hadn’t completely wrecked his storyline in Season 4. Maybe with one less character to write, they’ll be able to fix that??? Are you talking about Lauren? For the ER doc? I’m definitely still interested to see where that goes.

  12. Michelle says:

Shana, you can catch her on reruns of Law & Order UK! I live in the US, but I have Acorn and Britbox so I watch a ton of British shows. Just a way to get a Freeman fix! 😃

    1. Shana says:

I still have to get to the L&O UK. Definitely on my list!

  13. Ann says:

Thanks for ruining my day !

  14. Elise says:

Oh please, it was Freema’s decision to leave the show. She was cast to be Max’s romantic interest. She just probably wanted something more
I’ll be watching to see how they, hopefully, gracefully exit the series

  15. Elise says:

Oh please, it was Freema’s decision to leave the show. She was cast to be Max’s romantic interest. She just probably wanted to do something else. I’ll be watching to see how they end the series

  16. Donna says:

If you look her up in Google the actress chose to leave the show. The show did not write her off.

  17. Elise says:

    Dfinitely watch. Like other characters

  18. Ray says:

No this crazy fir them to do that. SharpMax was the reason I watch the show

  19. Daria says:

For me Helen/Freema was the heart od New Amsterdam. It would be hard to watch show without her. But the reason I won’t watch it is how Freema exit was handle. TPTH had time to prepare decent Helen/Freema farewell. They isolated her from New Amsterdam for half of the S4 and gave her less and less screen time, but continue Sharpwin and weddings, baby talks – what for. And at the end they decided that 55 second of Helen in S4 finale, last Helen scene of Helen in NA all in tears – what a disrespect for actress and viewers. Where is the joy. And than complete silence from show rummer and produces on season finale and whether Freema is back in S5 or not. They voice was only forced only by Freema statement that she won’t be back in season 5. Surprise for Sharpwin fans – it’s a joke and not a good one.
I don’t trust New Amsterdam, that are better things to watch.

    1. Shana says:

Yup. If Freema wants to go, I support that. The way the character has been handled…no.

  20. Marbusinesslady says:

Even if she chose to leave the owners and the pen and paper should have written her a better exit. Thay assinated her character into a careless insensitive person which she never played this in the show.

  21. Lynn says:

This is going to be a very controversial statement, but I stopped watching after Season 3. I’m sure I’m the only person on the planet who did NOT want to see Max and Helen together. The show became nothing more than a nighttime soap opera after that. I can only hope that none of these overly melodramatic relationships happen in a REAL hospital setting.
New Amsterdam was my VERY favorite show the first season. Unfortunately it went “soap opera” after that.
I bailed out after Season 3.
