We watch a lot of TV! In case all the reviews, interviews, news, and features didn’t give you a clue (wink, wink), we’ve decided to come together once a week to highlight all those great moments that our favorite shows give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Badass Character of the Week
Raquel: Isabel from The Rookie. It’s not easy to overcome an addiction and it’s even less easy to realize your mistakes and accept them, in addition to returning to a place where everyone is aware of them. And Isabel did all of that.
Ashley T.: I’m so happy Deanna Troi FINALLY got something useful to do in the finale of Star Trek: Picard 3×10 “The Last Generation.” It’s been frustrating watching her sidelined for the majority of the season, so I’m glad she got her due in the finale.
OTP of the Week
Raquel: How could it be otherwise, my choice is….Chenford!!! To no one’s surprise LMAO. The last The Rookie episode may not have been what we expected but we saw them not being able to keep their hands off each other. Difficult times are coming, but this, they, will prevail.
Shana: Tai and Van in Yellowjackets, adult versions. I mean, sure, Tai’s technically in a (basically over) marriage and all, but you could absolutely feel so much tension in every single scene Tawny Cypress and Lauren Ambrose had together. Just…so much angst.
Rebecca: This is a different kind of badass compared to the usual/what many might expect, but I applaud and respect the hell out of The Company You Keep’s Leo Nicoletti (William Fichtner) for pulling his own con on Davey Slocum and taking him for 200k – close to the amount/worth of Leo’s pension he stole – via a game of golf. I also give him extra points for nailing that winning shot and the fact that William had never played the sport before filming the scenes.
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS
Raquel: Shaun tells Glassy that he’s going to be there for him even if he doesn’t want to like Glassy did for him in The Good Doctor‘s last episode.
Shana: Never thought “Jamie Tartt teaches Roy Kent how to ride a bike on Ted Lasso” would be a thing, much less that it would cause a ton of feelings…but here we are.
Ashley T.: Watching Picard do the one thing that he swore he’d never do to rescue his son made me weepy. That’s how you daddy, Jean-Luc. Good job.
Rachel: I think I have to go with the moment when Din formally adopted Grogu on The Mandalorian. Yeah, we already knew that was their relationship but IT’S OFFICIAL NOW. They are father and son for real! Maybe it’s meh to most other people but not to me.
Quote of the Week
Raquel: “I’ll be fine, we’ll be fine” – Tim Bradford, The Rookie.
Ashley T.: “Then if you won’t leave, I’ll stay with you…until the end. You have changed my life forever.” – Jean-Luc to Jack, Star Trek: Picard 3×10 “The Last Generation.”
Shana: “That’s medication for me to mind my own business. You should take two.” Adult Van, absolute icon, Yellowjackets. (Runner-up: “I’m missing my pop culture metaphors because I’m fucking upset!” also from Van.)
Rebecca: While The Company You Keep’s Emma and Birdie spent time in the surveillance van this week, and listened in on Daphne and Charlie talking business, Birdie’s comment of “Does your face know that?” in response to Emma’s “I’m fine” – after Birdie noted how Daphne appeared to be feeling more than trust for Charlie lately – had me grinning and cackling. I still chuckle thinking about it now.
WTF Moment of the Week
Raquel: Bailey’s friend telling her that she has a problem with alcohol in The Rookie. I mean, that girl needs to look at herself in a mirror!
Ashley T.: Apparently Q ISN’T dead? We only spent an entire season killing him last year for Terry Matalas to handwave him back into the end credits scene and say, “JK!” I don’t like increasingly looking back at the first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard and saying “What was the point?”.
Shana: That last Yellowjackets scene with adult Nat and Lottie…The thing. On the plane…was it for real, for real? Or were the drugs talking. Maybe both? As always, this show has me (WT)Fed up.
