Lord help us, Wilderness is INTENSE. And we’re only on episode two.
Liv is no saint, but if we’re being honest there is a part of me that gets it. I get why it is that she is wanting to understand why it is that her husband is interested in someone else, why he’s cheating, what makes her so irresistible. But that’s the thing, why people cheat or why they do the things that they do, is something that TBH, I won’t really ever get.
Because people are a big ball of indecision. They are a big ball of just being driven by bullshit and by hormones. They are driven by a bunch of thinking that the grass is always greener on the other side.
Liv wants to be in control, but it doesn’t take long to see that she’s definitely not in control of anything. She’s living this life of trying to live up to everyones expectations, but she has more baggage than one should have. Will wants to be in control, but he’s lived this life of privledge, thinking that he can do anything that he wants.
The truth is though, he can’t. What he thinks he can control, he screws up. And then he tries to then deflect blame. The thing is that you can truly never find redemption unless you take accountability.
That is the one thing that he wasn’t expecting was the woman that he’s having an affair with to show up. He didn’t expect his wife to think that it would be good for them to go hiking with her and her man and he sure as fuck didn’t think that Cara (that’s the woman that he’s been cheating with to try and make him jealous.
But that’s why there is no sympathy for him falling and hurting himself. What I loved though is that Liv and Cara both knew that he was uncomfortable with the entire situation and while both wanted to appease him, both had different ideas of what that meant.
Liv knows that Cara knows things she doesn’t want her to know. But she also knows that she has an upper hand, because she’s begun to understand something that Cara doesn’t want. She’s begun to understand Cara. She’s understanding that this girl gives no fucks about what she’s destroying.
And so as things get more intense and they keep going, eventually finding the help that Will needs. The whole walk there, Liv’s insinuated that she knows something, but what it is she really hasn’t told Cara.
Helll, the two of them have become friendly. When Will and Liv’s car is stolen and they need to rely on Cara and her man to get out of there, I am somewhat confused on how Liv hasn’t blurted out all the things she knows automatically. Yet, after Will looses the car because he doesn’t pay attention to what he needs to once he sees Cara (you know, like taking the keys out of the car), the car gets stolen.
The four end up at a hotel together and shit comes to an impasse. Will wants to keep Liv and Cara apart, but the two are constantly put together. They both realize they have such Mommy issues and it makes them understand each other a bit more. Liv keeps letting on that she knows that Cara is fucking her husband.
But Cara doesn’t get it. She doesn’t get it until Will and Liv have a massive fight and Will storms off. Liv is set to leave and Cara asks her if she’s okay.
Can we all – just for a second – talk about how oblivious Garth seems to be what is going on? He leaves the two to talk and Liv really just comes out and lets Cara know that she knows. She knows what’s up and she’s not taking the Cara’s lies. Granted, totally confused as to why they hug each other.
Cara tells Liv that she’s sorry. But is she? I don’t think so. She’s obviously shown up where they are in order to try and get close to Will, but it’s made for a really bad situation. It’s more stalker vibes than support vibes.
Will’s fucking scared and the argument that ensues between him and Liv is savage. He’s basically like putting her down on every level and I want to go into the screen and slap the shit out of him. He’s such a dick. I just want to understand what makes every woman want to fall at his feet. Like is he working with a vibrating dick?
I have to admit that I really felt for Liv and also didn’t like her at the same time. She’s a flawed person. We all are, but the way that Will points out all of hers is really fucked up. While I get that she says that she really loves Will – I think that the reality is that she’s afraid that she’ll have to go back to her life in England. She doesn’t want to admit that things aren’t perfect.
But, what I have learned in this episode is that she’s just as fucked up as Will. She doesn’t think about repercussions. She doesn’t think about anything but presentation. Well, GIRL YOU STALKED CARA. Yes, I get that your husband cheated, but no man is worth all this headache. Like no dick is that good.
Will gets plastered and runs into Cara. God knows what those two are up to. I feel like they went to go screw in a bathroom and are screwing in a stall. Yes, yes – this episode pissed me off.
I hate when women feel like their life is completed by someone else. And these two – Cara and Liv – think that Will completes them. What they don’t see is that Will is actually a hinderance. Such a dumb ass he is.
Case in point Will is a dumb ass and leaves his phone on the charger. When he does, Cara (who is not a girls girl) has texted and said meet by the waterfall and lets leave. Like stop talking about it.
Cara is not a good person. Not at all. So she deserves what she gets – or so I thought – until they leave you hanging and Liv has pushed someone in the waterfall in a fit of rage.
But who is it? Time will tell, I guess. My money is on Garth.
