It feels like everyone is in Cannes right now, but we can’t blame Hollywood. After all, the 2024 Cannes Film Festival is underway. That means that we’re going to be getting a lot of information to fawn over. One interersting bit of information is that we’re looking at a season five of Emily in Paris.
Yes, a season five.
Now Netflix hasn’t verified it, but we’re believing that it’s coming. Why? Because at the 2024 amFAR gala, a guest role in season five of the show was auctioned off. Winnie Harlow and Paris Jackson took the stage at the gala to auction off the walk on role that was sponsored by Emily in Paris creator, Darren Star. In addition to the walk on role, the winner of the auction also has a chance to attend the season four premiere of the show in Los Angeles. Whomever won, (we think) loves the show, because they shelled out €250,000.
Now, in addition to auctioning off the prize, Harlow and Jackson also said that season 5 of the show would start filming in 2025.
After the auction, the amFAR website updated the prize to saying, “will have the opportunity to spend a day on set in Paris during filming, contingent upon season 5 pickup.” According to Variety, the original post didn’t use the word contingent, so we’re thinking that this is a coverup? Like they’re trying to back peddle? We have so many questions.
We read all the info on this and remain so confused and need answers on season five. Who is going to give them to us?
For now, we’ll live with looking forward to season four. The first part of the upcoming season of Emily in Paris will debut on August 15th, while the second part will follow on Sept. 12th.
We’ll definitely be covering.
