Ironically, my Saturday mornings from when I was a kid have come back to haunt me. My little brother would wake me up and let me know that it was time for He-man. Now, I was more of a Kids Incorporated kind of girl, but that’s neither here nor that.
I used to give my little brother such crap about making me watch He-man. Now, I will be the person that will drag him to the theaters. Why? Ummm Nicholas Galitzine as He-man? Don’t see it, but I do love being proven wrong (okay, I don’t, but hey).
Tthe actor will be in the live-action Masters of the Universe film from Amanzon Studios and Mattel Films. He’s had success with The Idea of You and Red, White & Royal Blue, on the streamer, so we do get it.
“We’re thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn’t be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man,” said Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios said in a statement. “Joining forces with director Travis Knight, Mattel, and Escape Artists, this reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia.”
Now the premise of the movie is under wraps (shocker). The movie us set to be directed by Travis Night. The script comes from Chris Butler. David Callaham, with Aaron Nee and Adam Nee having worked on an earlier draft.
Mattel Films’ President, Robbie Brenner said, “Mattel Films is proud to work with Amazon and team up again with the incredible Courtenay Valenti, to bring Masters of the Universe to the big screen. We are thrilled to be producing alongside the highly respected and prolific Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, with the visionary Travis Knight, and the charismatic and talented Nicholas Galitzine, our Prince Adam/He-Man!”
We wanna know what you think? Can you see Nicholas as He-man? Or are you as perplexed as us?
