We’ve been anxiously awaiting the reboot of Gossip Girl, but we’re going to have to wait a little longer for it.
We all thought that the reboot of Gossip Girl was coming this fall, but the reboot has been delayed because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We aren’t surprised, and of course, everyone’s health and safety is and should be the first priority.
Vulture reported the news that the show would be pushed back to 2021.
“They hadn’t even started production yet; they were in pre-production and ready to roll,” HBO Max chief content officer Kevin Reilly told Vulture.
He continued, “Things that would have been really meaningful and high profile have gotten pushed back.”
Like all streaming services, they were excited about many high profile programs that will now have to wait. HBO Max is set to debut this week, and a lot of the content will not be ready in time.
We know that there will be a lot of changes to programming and seasons won’t be starting in the fall, as we have become accustomed to.
Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Thomas Doherty, Adam Chanler-Berat and Zion Moreno are all set to star. Kristen Bell will be reprising her original role as the series narrator.
Are you a fan of Gossip Girl? What do you think of the show being pushed to 2021?
HBO Max launches on May 27th.
