Attention all my Game Of Thrones fans, The Kingslayer has returned! well, sort of. Nikolaj-Coster Waldau who we all know as Jamie Lannister AKA The Kingslayer, Isn’t actually the Kingslayer in his new role but, he is on a mission in his latest film The Silencing.
A reformed hunter living in isolation on a wildlife sanctuary becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local Sheriff set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago.
Check out the official trailer:
Are you creeped out because I am. The backwoods setting, plus some weird camouflaged person we can’t see hunting and killing people is a recipe for scary. I’m here for it though, because first and foremost, I’m a fan of Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (After) who is playing Brooks, Sheriff Gustafson’s (Annabelle Wallis) troubled brother. The preview doesn’t give us much insight into the type of person Brooks is but, he looks gritty and grimy and I have so many questions like, what happened to his face?, and is he going to have an American accent in this because Annabelle Wallis does and she’s also an English actor.

Secondly, I’m excited to see Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on screen again. He made me a fan when I saw him in Game of Thrones so why wouldn’t I watch him in this?.

The Silencing was originally supposed to premiere back in March during SXSW but due to Covid-19, the festival was cancelled. The film which was acquired by Saban Films, will release first on DirectTV on July 16, which if I’m being honest, sucks because not everyone has DirectTV okay? anywho, once that happens, the film will then have a theatrical, digital, and On Demand release on August 14.
Will you be checking out The Silencing when it releases? Let us know in the comments!
