Viewers still have to wait a little while longer for season three of 9-1-1: Lone Star. But since we did an article on what we’re hoping for in the new season of 9-1-1, we decided to do the same for Lone Star.
Now, for some reason it always feels like season three can make or break a show. I’ve watched shows where the third season is absolutely terrible and ruins a show for me, and I can never really look at it the same. But I’ve always continued to watch shows where season three is the best. I’m sincerely hoping that season three is the best season yet for 9-1-1: Lone Star.
So, here are the top five things we want from season three:

Judd and Grace Becoming Parents
If you’ve read any of our articles about this show, you know that Judd and Grace are our favorites, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that this is at the top of our list. Their relationship is just so different and refreshing from all the others on TV. They’re open and honest with each other, and we are so excited to see them become parents! We know they’re going to be great at it.
Also, we would like to see more of Judd’s dad in season three. Because Barry Corbin is amazing.

Tommy’s Journey as a Single Mom
We were absolutely gutted when Charles died. Tommy’s world was completely turned upside down, and now she has to learn how to learn how to live life without him. We hope that we see more scenes of her with her adorable kids and trying to balance raising her daughters with being the badass paramedic captain that she is. We also wouldn’t mind more Tommy/Grace friendship scenes, either.

More of Mateo and Owen as Roommates
Mateo and Owen are pretty much the last duo we expected to form a bond, but here we are. Even though we didn’t see this coming, we kind of love Mateo and Owen as roommates. They could both use some more friends, and we hope the show expands on this this year. We think they could be good for each other. And if TK and Carlos stayed there for a while, too, we wouldn’t say no to that. It could be a lot of fun.

More of Nancy and TK’s Paramedic Journey
We liked that TK switched to a paramedic in season two, and we enjoyed getting to know Nancy this season. We’re really hoping that 9-1-1: Lone Star explores this partnership more in season three. Nancy has been a refreshing addition to the show, and while we love the firefighters, the paramedics need some focus, too!
Just maybe don’t have them kidnapped and held at gunpoint this season, okay?

Paul, Marjan, and Mateo’s friendship
We really love how close Paul, Marjan, and Mateo are. They know how to have fun, but they’re also there for each other and try to help when one of them is in trouble or needs support. The writers have done a great job developing their friendship over the last two seasons, and we hope they get even closer in season three.
We pretty much love all of the characters, and we’re excited to see what the writers have in store for us for this new season. Even if we have to wait until January, it’ll be worth the wait.

9-1-1: Lone Star premieres mid-season on Fox.
Every cast member being included in this article except Carlos is pretty on brand for the show. And no, mentioning him once as TK and Carlos does not count. Hopefully the show will do a lot better by Carlos in season 3.
