We’ve been waiting for news on Shining Vale Season 2 since the second we finished the first season. Thankfully, we don’t need a demonic possession to get what we want: STARZ has announced we’re getting eight more episodes to spend with the Phelps family.
If you haven’t yet gotten yourself into this gem of a horror-comedy, now is absolutely the time to do it. Not only will you be able to binge the entire first season, but you’ll also have plenty of time to process all the “WTF” moments.
It’s way too soon to know what to expect from Shining Vale Season 2—besides, you know, a little bit of every feeling imaginable. But we can at least confirm Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, and Mira Sorvino will return. Which, to be honest, considering where all of their characters left off…That kind of raises just as many questions as it answers. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
There’s just one other thing that’s for certain: There are no breaks for the Phelps family on the horizon. Our series co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner, Jeff Astrof promises (threatens?) our new fave will be extra Extra, as always. Or maybe more than ever before?
Don’t take our word for it, though. Here’s what he had to say:
“[Co-creator Sharon Horgan] and I are thrilled to be able to tell the next eight chapters of the Phelps’ story– especially after the way we ended season one. Personally, I look forward to the crushing pressure of trying to raise the bar even further in season two. But we can do anything. After all, ‘We Are Phelps!'”

And we are here. for. it.
Other things we’re here for: All the praise this series can get, like this tidbit from STARZ’s President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby:
“‘Shining Vale’ is both wickedly funny and a beautiful three-dimensional portrayal of marriage, adolescent parenting and motherhood,” said Kathryn Busby, President, Original Programming, STARZ. “We’re thrilled to bring viewers another season of this mic dropping blend of horror and comedy.”

If we add some “as writers, this is the most seen we’ve ever felt,” with a twist of, “this series is one, big reaction gif” and “this show goes hard on how we respond to mental illness” to that statement, we’re right there with Busby. And we can truly not wait to see what else this series haunts us with during its next eight chapters.
So. If you’re in the U.S. or Canada, stream Shining Vale on the STARZ app. Or grab it on the STARZPLAY streaming platform in Europe, Latin America, or Japan.
And we’ll see you back here, with all the news and reviews for Shining Vale Season 2.
