It’s Polin season! Nicola Coughlan was in charge of presenting Bridgerton‘s season 3 first look at TUDUM. And…this is art! Every one of the pics is beautiful and tells an interesting story. It’s time to break down Polin’s first photos! Ready?
Here we go!
1. Colin’s Welcome
This photo is from Bridgerton season 3 episode 1. Presumably, it’s Colin’s return home from his summer travels, so it’s a safe bet that this will be one of the first scenes of season 3. We see Colín with a new look, a more mature appearance, more…grown up — and hot.
And, while all his family is around him, he stares at a specific point. We bet that Colin is fixing his eyes on the house across the street, where his best friend Penelope Featherington lives, perhaps at her window, looking for her. What do you think?
2. Penelope’s Beauty
In this second photo from Bridgerton season 3, Penelope is spectacularly beautiful! We confirm that Penelope Featherington left citrus colors behind. This dress is of a peculiar color, depending on how capricious the light is, greenish blue flashes are seen on it, while the curtains have green embroidery. Green is Polin color!
In Bridgerton season 3, both Penelope’s dress and hairstyle, like Colin’s, give her a more mature appearance. She is no longer a girl, nor a teenager, she is a woman. But, above all, this new look perfectly reflects the beauty of Penelope, a beauty that she didn’t think she possessed but that was always there. Penelope is beautiful, she always was, and it’s time for the world to see it.
Focusing on her eyes, Penelope is looking out the window. She has a contemplative look, almost melancholic, troubled. The pic is from episode 2, so she can’t be watching Colin return from his trip. Rather, she seems to be thinking about him, what his return means, and perhaps her broken friendship with Eloise.
Penelope may be thinking at this moment if she will be able to get Colin out of her heart, now that he seems to have returned determined to break the distance and the emotional walls that it cost her so much to build. Maybe, she’s wondering if it was a good idea to accept him giving her courtship lessons…or she’s trying to stick together after their first lesson.
3. Polin’s Intimacy
In this third photo from Bridgerton season 3, we have Colin and Penelope AKA Polin together for the first time. The pic is also from episode 2 and Penelope is wearing the same dress as in the previous pic. It’s a day dress, formal enough that it’s not outrageous but casual enough that it’s not appropriate to wear to a ball.
Again, the greenish blue color appears on the scene in Bridgerton season 3, reflected in Penelope’s dress. They seem to be alone so either Colin caught Penelope off guard or they’re both doing something society wouldn’t look kindly on, like courtship classes.
As for the looks, we can barely make out Colin’s eyes but it’s clear that he’s looking at Penelope intensely, almost pleading. Perhaps Colin is begging her for an explanation of her absence, of her distance… or Colin is begging her for forgiveness. It may also be that Polin is giving one of their first courtship classes.
And, focusing for a moment on Penelope’s eyes, in them you can see longing and the attempt to hide what she still feels for him. As if she’s trying to stop herself from believing what Colin is telling her or from falling into the trap of his lies.
4. Polin’s Complicity
And we come to the fourth and last photo of Bridgerton season 3 shown in TUDUM. There has been a bit of controversy on social media regarding this photo. The legend of the pic specifies that the episode to which it corresponds is episode 10 when, normally, the seasons of the show consist of 8 episodes.
However, the title of the pic attributes it to episode 2, that is, the scene to which this pic corresponds would take place in the same episode as the scenes of the two previous pics. So, we think is an episode 2 photo.
Having clarified this point, in this photo from Bridgerton season 3, Polin is connected through their eyes. Everything seems to be as it was before between them, connected looks that cannot be separated from each other, almost as if they were two magnets that are impossible to stop attracting each other, complicit smiles, comfort between them, camaraderie…
However, things are somewhat different. Colin’s intense gaze doesn’t speak of friendship, but of something else — as they always have, even though he didn’t realize it. It’s like Colin sees how beautiful Penelope is for the first time. It’s as if he, for the first time, sees her.
And Penelope’s eyes… sparkle. She glows. Almost as if she, despite fighting herself to keep from falling again, at times can’t help but fall.
Again, in this pic from Bridgerton season 3, the color green dominates the scene. Colin and Penelope are at a ball, perhaps one of the first Ton balls, maybe putting Colin’s seduction classes to the test on Penelope? We think so.

If you look closer at the background on the last pic though, they’re not at a ball. They’re outside, probably in a shopping square.
