If you’re like us here at Fangirlish, you’ve been obsessing over all things Bridgerton Season 3 and, while totally here for Polin, have also found yourself loving Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton. Now, if you’re like me, you might have wondered why you recognized Dodd, only to be like, “of course it was a dance show.” And, dear readers, the answer comes from a series that’s as entertaining and heartwarming as it is absurd. More importantly, it’s also a great opportunity for you to see a completely different side of this very talented actress.
Ok, enough with the vague references — here’s the deal. Dodd once played the school mean girl on a short-lived Hulu Original called Find Me in Paris about a ballet school…and a time traveler from 1905.
Hannah Dodd stole the show in Find Me in Paris

Forget about sweet, shy Francesca Bridgerton for a moment. (If you even can.) Thea Raphael was the It girl at Find Me in Paris‘ fictionalized Paris Opera Ballet School. She had it all — the technique, the hot boyfriend, the adoring fans/bffs/minions, teachers’ praise — until all the time-traveling shenanigans began. And the thing is, she did not like it when Lena Grisky (Jessica Lord) just…appeared out of thin air, challenging her for that top spot — and even for Max, the hot boyfriend in question.
Technically speaking, Lena is the “main” character, at the center of all the truly bizarre time travel stuff and the modern day ballet school drama. Arguably, though, Dodd winds up stealing that show…and leaving the most lasting impression. Something about Thea just sticks with you. And no, she’s not 100% as she initially seems.
Because this series was utterly and completely genre defying — the Hulu site lists the genre as “Fantasy, Lifestyle & Culture, Family, Science Fiction, Kids, Dance.” So, uh. We’re not kidding when we say it has a little bit of everything — it would be impossible to explain the many twists, turns, and shippy moments on the show. But it’s not at all difficult to say Dodd was exquisite in it, both during Thea’s initial introduction as a (modern-day) rival for 1905 girl Lena and with everything else that followed.
Basically, you don’t have to be someone who loves the “dance show for kids and teens” formula to find yourself sucked into all the drama. Same goes for not technically needing to be a sci-fi nerd like us either. It’s just…fun. And since the series does blend so many different genres, it’s really something we can recommend for everyone out there who’s tired of watching the same old thing. Again, that’s especially if you want to see Dodd play someone who is definitely not a wallflower and (spoiler for Season 2?) definitely not a fan of the early 1900s.

Even the little snippets of Hannah Dodd as Thea are so much fun. Dare we say they…sparkle like diamonds?
Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 is now streaming on Netflix. All three seasons of Find Me in Paris are on Hulu. Catch Hannah Dodd as two completely different characters in both.
