Well, Upload just took a turn that I didn’t see coming. But that’s part of what I love about this show because it keeps you on your toes. Upload is innovative and fun. Upload is creative.
And well, Upload makes you think about technology, the world around you, and the connections that you make.
What I don’t like is Matteo and Nora. I mean, I do. But the thing is that I don’t because I want Nora and Nathan together. But I know that will take time. Nora is moving forward in the camp and she really has grown close to Matteo. The way they interact is adorable, but again, he’s not Nathan.
I know, I know, we all have to accept that Nathan is dead and Nora is alive (and yes, typing that out feels weird). They both have to live their lives.
Nathan is living his life and realizing that he needs to accept that Nora is gone. So when Ingrid says that they are throwing a dinner party, he doesn’t protest. And he hates dinner parties.
Nathan is going to try to make everything with Ingrid work, because this is where he is. He’s at this point in his afterlife that he wants to be loved and so he’s even willing to look over the fact that Ingrid was part of his murder.
Back at camp, Pastor Rob doesn’t like the fact he saw Matteo and Nora kissing. He’s an intimidating man and he knows it. But he gives no fucks and is going to try and put her in her place. He tells her basically that she needs to earn her place.
What I am not understanding is why her working in the garden isn’t earning her place, because it seems like other people are just doing things like this and they aren’t chastised the way she is.
Matteo gives her the chance to “earn her place” by creating an avatar he can use to get into Lakeview in the grey zone. This makes her a little uneasy, because as much as she’s moved on she loves Nathan. It may not make all the sense in the world, but it makes sense to her.
And hey, it makes sense to us.
Speaking of Nathan, this dinner party is a hot mess. However, he was genius inviting his own friends. All of Ingrids friends are a headache and a half. But what kills me is when they send the new person in using Nora’s avatar. Seeing the reaction on Nathan’s face, the way the color falls out from his face, the way he looks in pain – I feel for him.
And then finding out that it’s not her, he’s equally in pain.
Nathan found solace in Nora. As he remembered things from his past, she was always the one to get him through. And that was something that she needed to do, but also something that he needed to do. They needed each other and if they had met when they were both alive, I feel like they would have been perfect together. But isn’t it weird what it took for these two to meet?
Nathan seeing the Nora avatar, the way he looked as though his other half came back to him, the way his eyes gleamed with hope, all I could think was BRING HER BACK TO HIM.
But then again, be careful what you wish for. Because the leaders at camp have decided to send her back to live on the grid, and work at Horizon as a double agent. The look on her face was full of fear.
And one has to wonder – if it’s the fear of going back or the fear of having to see Nathan again. And honestly, I love Nora and Nathan, but that pain that they’re gonna have to face and ripping off the bandaid – it’s a lot.
And I feel for them, so very much.
But at least Nora would be a person that is honest with Nathan, because legitimately no one else is.
