The coronavirus has affected all aspects of our lives. Including when it comes to entertainment. The simple things we used to do like take a trip to the movies is no more. Because of the virus, movie theaters all over the world have closed in order to reduce the risk of people contracting or spreading the virus.
There is a silver lining to this though.
Because of the quarantine, several studios have released films early on digital platforms. Some of these films have been in the theater for a couple of months while others were preparing to head to the big screen.
Here are 10 movies available to stream now.

The Invisible Man
What it’s about: When Cecilia’s abusive ex takes his own life and leaves her his fortune, she suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of coincidences turn lethal, Cecilia works to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.
Why You Should Watch: This was actually the last film I saw in a movie theater before everything began. I really enjoyed this film because it kept me on the edge of my seat. It reminds me of a mix of Hollow Man and Enough. I highly recommend this film because its very entertaining and Elisabeth Moss is amazing.
The Invisible Man is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Birds Of Prey
What its about: After splitting with the Joker, Harley Quinn joins superheroes Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya to save a young girl from an evil crime lord.
Why You Should Watch: Probably one of the films I am most excited about releasing early on digital platforms. I love Harley Quinn and have since I was a kid watching Batman cartoons. I was really hoping to catch this one while it was on the big screen but I didn’t get the chance. Anyhoo, if you’re a Harley Quinn fan and are all about a team of badass females, this is the film for you.
Birds of Prey is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Frozen 2
What Its About: Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven leave Arendelle to travel to an ancient, autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land. They set out to find the origin of Elsa’s powers in order to save their kingdom.
Why You Should Watch: I loved the first Frozen film so I’m excited to watch this one. The cinematography in Frozen was astounding and Frozen 2 looks even better. This is the perfect film to watch while you’re home with the kids, or if you’re just a big kid who loves animation.
Frozen 2 is available to stream on Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.
Emma
What It’s About: In 1800s England, a well meaning but selfish young woman meddles in the love lives of her friends.

The Gentlemen
What It’s About: An American expat tries to sell off his highly profitable marijuana empire in London, triggering plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.
Why You Should Watch: I talked about this film last year when I did a list of the movies we were looking forward to in 2020. Some of my favorite actors are in this film and the fact that it takes place in London and a majority of the cast is from the UK, makes it even more exciting. I love anything that takes place in the UK so I am looking forward to watching this.
The Gentlemen is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Downhill
What It’s About: Barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski vacation in the Alps, a married couple is thrown into disarray as they are forced to reevaluate their lives and how they feel about each other.
Why You Should Watch: I actually stumbled upon the trailer for this film one day while watching TV and it looked interesting to me. It doesn’t hurt that Italian hottie Giulio Berutti is in it as well but I digress. I like Will Ferrell and although i am not a huge fan, I like Julia Louis-Dreyfus as well. The trailer fools you into feeling like its a comedy, but I can tell there is much more to this story.
Downhill is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Just Mercy
What It’s About: World-renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson works to free a wrongly condemned death row prisoner.
Why You Should Watch: Films like these are so important because they showcase moments in black history that are often overlooked. The incarceration of innocent black men is something that has gone on for many years and movies like these are eye opening and can give people a history lesson they didn’t expect.
Just Mercy is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Sonic The Hedgehog
What It’s About: After discovering a small, blue, fast hedgehog, a small-town police officer must help it defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on it.
Why You Should Watch: I loved playing Sonic the Hedgehog on my Sega Genesis (Yes, I am that old) when I was a kid. It was always such a fun game and the movie looks just as fun. We could all use a bit of fun and if you were a fan of Sonic growing up, you will feel like a kid all over again watching this.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be available to stream March 31st on Amazon Prime Video.
Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
What It’s About: The surviving members of the resistance face the First Order once again, and the legendary conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches its peak bringing the Skywalker saga to its end.
Why You Should Watch: I mean it’s pretty obvious right? if you’re a Star Wars fan why wouldn’t you watch this one? personally, I have only seen one Star Wars film but I know there are tons of fans out there so of course it made the list.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
I Still Believe
What It’s About: The true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss that looks to prove there is always hope.
Why You Should Watch: Although this story is a sad one, it can also be uplifting as well and I think this is a good way to close out this list. We could all use a bit of faith and hope in our lives. This film deals with all of that and even at times losing that faith and hope. In life we face a great deal of challenges and I think watching Jeremy’s story is a great way to show you can make it through.
I Still Believe is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
I think this is a nice list that can keep us all occupied for awhile. Which of these films will you be checking out? Tell us in the comments.
